Someone said "hack", yet I don't even know how to hack . . .

I have a strange problem... If I try to join most servers, it will try to load the map, get about half-way loaded, and then boot me out. HOWEVER, on maps that take less time to load like Pinpoint or the D-day themed one, it is fine. The error that pops up says either their was an error in map transfer (unlikely) or the server timed out (likely the problem). Do anyone know how to fix this? (reinstalling did not work.)

A: Click on the 'edit' button by the original/first post you made, and change the title from there.

Game FAQ:
- Q: How can I change my ingame name?

A: Your ingame name is defined in the 'config.ini' file in your Ace of Spades installation folder.
So to change it, simply go to your Ace of Spades folder (often 'C:\Program Files\Ace of Spades'), then open the file 'config.ini'.
Inside there is the line 'name Deuce' - simply change 'Deuce' to the name that you want (remembering to keep a space between 'name' and the name you choose).

If you get permission errors, then you shall need to: copy all the contents out of 'config.ini', paste it into notepad, delete the original 'config.ini', now change your name in notepad as described above, save it onto the desktop as config.ini (remembering to make sure it's saved using 'All Files' option rather than '.txt' if using notepad), then copy/paste that desktop 'config.ini' back into your Ace of Spades folder.

A: Ace of Spades is an FPS (First Person Shooter) with sandbox terrain. The goal is to capture, and return to your Command Post (marked as a team-coloured '+' on the map), the enemy Intel (marked as a square in the opposition colour).
By capturing, you increase your team's score and you receive the ability, for one minute, to see all enemy movements (as red circles on the map). You have limited ammunition on your player, but you can restock your supplies at your own Command Post.
You have two digging tools, a rifle and some grenades. The pick-axe is used to gather blocks, destroying one block at a time; the spade is used to destroy three blocks at a time (destroys the block you point at, plus the blocks immediately above and below it - useful for making tunnels).

A: You can't, and it is considered a hack if you do so..

A: Unforunately control-changing functionality has not been programmed into the game, however Ben Aksoy (the developer) has said that custom key bindings are on the agenda for future updates.

- Q: I cannot load client.exe, what is wrong?

A: Ace of Spades works by webpage sending information to 'client.exe' to load it automatically with the correct settings. This means that you can't just load 'client.exe', you must choose a server from the play page and let it load itself.
Currently there is no GUI (Graphical User Interface), however some members of the community have created their own alternative server browsers with nifty extra features, more notable ones being listed here.

The new patch said there was windowed mode but how do you access it?

I keep getting a crash and this error "server disconnect or kick: also check latest game version" after a few seconds of playing. How do I fix this?

Hi, I have noticed people have wanted the original game files and have posted for help on the forums, most of the time they get "Just re-install the game". Well I have put all the default files and put them in a zip folder and uploaded them on mediafire. This includes every game file as of Beta 0.60. I personally just wanted to help so people would stop complaining.

I changed my name on config and when I opened aos is only filled the upper half of the screen (Sort of like widescreen with movies, but on the top side of the screen.)

If anyone has some advice or something that would be helpful.

I'm Trying to make a server so my friends and I can have fun and stuff and not have to trya and find working servers and stuff repeatedly.
But when I create it i don't know how they are supposed to join as it is not apearing in Spadille or on the play page.
Am I doing something wrong or is there a special proccedure.

I know my way around Linux and Wine, and AoS is not wanting to connect to any server, either through terminal, a windows browser in wine, or local.

It simply says:

Error!
Server Connection Failed: It's either full or misconfigured

The application voxed.exe and server.exe run, just not the client, and I am willing to host a server for this game if I can solve this issue.

Hey, its Shrooms and for the past few days I cant seem to be able to connect to Goon Haven. I don't ever remember being kicked or banned. I've tried reinstalling and changing my IP nothing works did you guys ISP/Domain/Whatever(Im not that good with PC's) block someone? When ever I hit reload with the shotty, it reloads one shot instead of all of them, and you can't hit r again. The only way to fix it is to switch to another item, then back to shotty, but you can still only reload one shot, so this glitch basically breaks the shotgun. Needs to be fixed ASAP.

how can you run it in a small screen?

I have this problem; my mouse sensitivity in-game is far too high. I've set the sensitivity in config file to 1 (lowest?) and it's still too high - manageable in medium to short range but a pain in the ass for any long distances. Chaniging it from control panel does not work, it doesn't seem to affect the game sensitivity at all. I have some sort of DPI changer on this mouse, a button that is, but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Also my desktop res is 1920x1080, in game is the default. Any tips?

I just wanna double-click file to open it with slab6 but it doesnt work.. When I try to change .kv6 files default opening app nothing happends. I can open those .kv6 files with other programs like with NotePad but not with slab6.. :D What should I do? I hope someone helps me.. =(
