That_Guy is truly an AoS hero. He told Dan that Lexysm told RoT that he was going to put forum account passwords on a website for public display. He saved the forums and put RoT's reputation in serious danger.

Hello I am an admin on a server and just accidentally kicked my friend and he cant join back how can i fix this?

I need a Admin for my server "Yet Another Server
requirements : nice guy be serious if needed 2 times in a week online
and not abusing this privilege

in an earlier request i asked if if you could add admins to the game i decided to make another post to explain that a little more

I just want to have admins to help out because on a lot of servers i have seen they are completely unmoderated and get greifed or trolls start being mean to people and nobody can hardly do anything but votekick and sometimes the server will get so full of greifers and trolls it takes up so much of percent of the server that people can't even use votekick. admins should be able to ban, kick, tempban, mute, warn and disable someone's ability to build and destroy blocks.

This is one of the things i would really like added to the game.

I realize that many lists have been made up to warn Server Admins, etc about questionable players. This will just be ones that I've witnessed.

I can't vouche for anyone adding to it, but if you do I would suggest following my guideline below.

Known Name/Alias: Jihad_Nasheed, Jihad, Jihad_Nadasheen
Reason: Griefing legitimate defenses, blocking in tents/players, taking intel and hiding away with it, hacking.
Servers frequented: Aloha uscentral hallway, aloha uswest island, aloha uswest pinpoint, aloha uscentral gen

Verified: I witnessed this guy on Aloha servers before doing this kind of asinine behaviour - to be expected of those - but i noticed in a game I played at 0900 (Central Time US&Canada) July 29/2011 in addition to low level griefing he was employing some weird hacks. He would be able to fire his gun and create a block in the air - not a server feature - and also be able to teleport from the bottom of cliffs to the top or across the map - in a server with no lag. Hopefully he just sticks to Aloha servers.

Just a heads up to any Admins who notice this guy join their server. BAN ASAP. Sorry I don't have IP.

Hey guys, I just wanted to complain about the server lag since the .54 update. In every server that I go into now, I can't kill others because the server is lagging, others look like they are not even looking at me and shoot and kill me, or when I'm making a base or what not I lag through the floors. All I'm asking is if there is a way to fix this and for StackedOverflow or bcoolface to look into this... Thanks a lot guys

Following on from the new announcement, we have drafted some guidelines for this category. Any suggestions to improve these can be posted below.

Guidelines for General Gameplay
In addition to following the general guidelines set out:

- Posts should be related to gameplay only.
- If you have any difficulties/enquires about either the game or the forum, they belong in the support category
- Topics that do not relate to gameplay, or are directed at a specific user (or group of users), belong in Off-Topic
- Map/mod requests/releases belong in the Maps&Mods
- Keep threads on the lines of the topic. Purely unrelated posts are likely to just be removed from now on
- Provocative behaviour will be dealt with - disrespect or spite shall not be tolerated

Not following these, or the guidelines set out in the forum guidelines will likely result in the moving/deletion/closing of posts, and user warnings if required.

After hearing suggestions for many new ways to prevent trolls, griefing, etc, some good, some bad, I gave up and am now shouting from the rooftops the real way to stop the skiddies from ruining your server.

They're called admins. They're actual people who actually supervise things. They can make calls better than any software, assess a situation more accurately, and they're harder to abuse than a public votekick.

However, most server hosts don't monitor their servers very well. This is a problem. Some hosts check on their servers frequently or maintain their presence (or save and close servers when they're away) to keep things under control, and their servers are consistently the best I've been on. It's crucial to hosting a good server that you keep an eye on things to destroy the trolls and protect the people that just want to play a fun game without constantly having to votekick Deuces.

The only feature for vanilla AoS server software that REALLY needs to be implemented is a way for server hosts to appoint admins, and possibly moderators, with the power to kick and ban at will (or just kick and tempban, in the case of moderators). The exact features would need some consideration (can all admins make admins, or only the host? What about making moderators? Could other mods do it or not?), but the overall idea would go a long way to making a better game experience.

All a host would need to do is gather up a friend or two, give them the appropriate powers, and start a server up. This would also strengthen the community (players that have gained a positive reputation might end up moderators on a plethora of servers, meaning that they can play in a bunch of different places and still remain helpful to the other players. If every single member of the AoS community who was trustworthy enough for the job was given it, griefers wouldn't stand a chance. They'd be kicked by five people at once) a bit overall. Servers could potentially have a moderator or admin online at all times, making things very hard indeed for griefers.

So hosts, PLEASE supervise your servers better, and Ben, can we get a feature like this? The system doesn't even require registration to work... server hosts could set a password a la PySpades.

Just a Warning to Build-Only Admins - a user by the name of "ALOHA-Admin" came to the SuperCool server today. I showed him respect saying they run good war servers. He was looking around and seemed to enjoy the way the build server looked. Just before he left he griefed my SuperCool Logo suspended over the water on a variation of AntiCBridge. This was approximately 3 hours of work that had been performed by me and several helpful people in the game.

Again, this is a warning, do not trust "ALOHA-Admin" on your build servers.

I'm releasing a public beta of ServerBot today. In-case you people want to use him.

You are probably aware that this place is used alot to discuss things. But at the moment it is un-ruled.
Threads are being endlessly bumped and everyone is asking the same questions over and over again. I wouldn't quite say it's spammed, but it's pretty bad.
The forums need more controls, and administrators/moderators to enforce them. We need to lock threads with reason, move threads to another category, and add more categories! One for news, mapping, modding etc.

A collection of people who know the game pretty well and have been reliable. For some, moderating the wiki might be enough, however many of us who have a bit of time on our hands could be available to help moderate these forums.
I just think that, seeing the player base is ever expanding and because people are getting tired of spam, there needs to be some control implemented before this place descends into mayhem.

My server (currently: "East Coast Server v035 t01"), is Assisted with an Admin Tool I am writing. This tool so far, only works with my server. I will be hoping to make it so that others could use it as well. The "v035" means that it is running the Ace Of Spades version 0.35, "t01" means that it is running the tool version 0.1.

As of right now, it only has the ability to allow Admins (only me so far), to kick players by their ID's via chat command: !kick <id>
I'm going to implement an anti-cheat system into it, to automatically kick hackers (I actually am able to do this, just I don't want to code it yet).

I was wondering what features you would like to see? Again, I will be eventually making it so it works on all servers (mabye Ben himself will actually implement these into the Server itself so there would be no need for an external tool).
