I would/could never force you to do anything.
I was merely trying to make myself useful here by giving suggestions based on what I have experienced to work in other forums!..
Being transparent and informative, while directly relating to displayed rules, is the best way of doing things I've seen - it helps against people thinking the admins use their power arbitrarily, or are seclusive.
I'd also suggest (and plead) that you change your \status/ *title* back to 'Administrator' too.. again to me, and some others, that's part of the whole 'I can do this, you can't' kinda thing..

I would have said the same grandmaster, but he spent so long arguing for it i think he deserved a ban in the end, if hed accepted the fact he broke the rules, under lex's almighty discretion, then i guess he wouldnt have been banned.

The fact is, moderators and administrators have the right to close/edit/delete any post they wish to.
That said, both you and the staff need to stick to the guidelines at all times. But as Lexsym has said - they are guidelines, so it is the discretion of the staff to interpret them. That said, it would have been nice Lexsym if you had given a short sentance or two explaining your reasoning for editing, since that makes it clear what's being violated etc.
A link to a website freely advertising hacks would be classed under indirectly 'distributing hacks'.

Edit: A ban is over the top.
