I think that griefing is more damaging than a bit of spam on the foums, because the game takes place in the game. The forums are meant to compliment the game, not replace it.

Argh... freakin' play page. Fortunately I saw the warnings before I actually tried to play today, so I've escaped permanent mental damage. I'm not playing AoS until it's fixed... my computer is slow enough without a trojan working against me.

The big problem with all this is that now that advertisers have found out about the AoS play page, they've also found these forums and probably the wiki as well, although I haven't checked yet. So not only does Ben have a load of crap he's left to clean up, now our wonderful forum moderators also have a load of crap to deal with, and chances are the wiki staff do too (although their Kaptcha setup will kill the 'bots).

Frankly, this makes my concern about griefers look pathetic. Now the entire AoS community has to worry about spam and other advertisement and malware crap, and highly disturbing pranks as well. I don't particularly blame Ben or the PySpades dev, but this sort of thing is unnacceptable, and desperately needs fixing. Now AoS and the forums will probably need a complete security overhaul, thanks to a couple of money-hungry criminals and a few immature scriptkiddies.
