I suggest the following:

1. Disable physics at least for original map or all buildings.
Because players very often destroy buildings or all map just destroying bottom "layer".
2. Make players drown in water. Because no sense in islands and bridges if may make stairs or tunnel to water and just run across the water to another island.
3. Limit the transfer to another team(For example, like in Counter-Strike).
Because may easy go to another team and teamkilled teammates and destroy enemy buildings.

I hope, with these suggestions, game will be more interest.

-------------------------------
Sorry for my bad English:)

First of all, I'm new and I would just like to say hello.

Ok, so I have been playing this game for a little while and love it like everyone else. But, I had an idea that would make this game even more exciting.
Zombies.

You could add another server list for this game mode.

I was thinking about it and this sounds like a lot of fun. You could start out like you would on a regular server but after a few seconds, zombies would start attacking.

Of course, you could put up walls and but zombies could break blocks. You would need to build some sort of fort to take refuge in.

There wouldn't really need to be any new weapons (although that would be much more fun) but there would probably need to be an ammo refill every few waves.

That is all I have thought out so far, but it is your game so change it however you want. What do you guys/girls think?

Good or bad idea?

ok hear me out, i know you guys think perm blocks are a bad idea, but not if their implemented correctly. im thinking of the ultimate anti-grief measure, to keep people from destroying vital map structures (i.e. the bridge in bridge wars). tell me what you think.

crack on "Tactics discussion general"

I think we need a general tactics discussion thread. I see lots of people are forgetting to use the advantages of this game. Few people build walls for cover when they see enemies coming, they rather strafejump, and die. Some forget to mend their walls in important places, and are surprised to be overwhelmed by the enemy. And some build bunkers and covers whithout questioning its usefulness, and waste lots of time with them. Lets change this.

So here is the point of the thread:
- discuss the tactics that are unique to this game (what, where, and when to build), even the most basic ones
- the tactics, that are considered good by the majority, could be collected and put in the wiki, so new players can read and learn from it

YourMom on "Notch Mention of AoS Could Unbalance the Game"

I found a post under the General Gameplay section called "Notch broked it." Recognizing Notch's name, I clicked on the post and found out that Notch linked the download of the game in his Twitter. My opinion is that this has some pros and some cons. I wanna talk about the problem, but first I'll mention a good aspect to keep spirits up. This will increase the AoS population by thousands, boosting this game in fame and also more people will donate making this an awesomer game than it is already (really hard to beat :D).

Now the problem. In the post "Notch broked it", commenters said minecrafters will interpret it and either join the game's servers and build like it's candyland, or rip on the game calling it a rip-off. Neither of those concern me much, although I know that some minecrafters will do this and have already done that. My concern is that many minecrafters who want to build freely will notice three things:
1. Green spawn/territory is in a relatively flatland, which is nice and easy to build on.
2. Green team promotes building much more than blue team. They are in lowlands and need as much cover as possible from the sniping blues on top of mountains.
3. Green team usually has better defenses and can better defend the builds minecrafters make than the blue team, minimizing chances of it being tore down by a sneaky ninja on the other team.
You've probably inferred by now that I implied most minecrafters will probably prefer the green team and will overpopulate the green team. Many starters at this game will be too scared to join blue team since it will have much less players, and the beginners will join green too, overpowering the green team even more.

The bottom line is that the preference for green team will sky rocket and the teams will unbalanced, making unfair games on most servers. On a vote taken on the unofficial Ace of Spades Blog in early April, 284 people preferred blue team, 297 people preferred green team, and 183 people couldn't decide. There was also a system that allowed you to only vote once to make the poll accurate. This was pretty balanced and made it about a fair match. Now in late April, when the world of Minecraft learned about this game from Notch, the polls could take a drastic turn.

YourMom on "Wiki Topic Titles"

There are only 3 section titles and like 99% of all posts are in the one "General Gameplay." Seriously? The forums should make more topic titles. If I'm looking to talk about new item add-on ideas I shouldn't have to scroll through 30 posts about fog complaints, machine gun concepts, and asking how to change your name. There should be sections regarding ideas, like "Item Ideas", "Weapon Ideas", "Graphic Ideas", and other sections like "Polls", "Informative Posts", "Question Posts", and more. Who agrees?
