Well 1337, I'm sure every Military Sniper has hidden behind/in something before... infact one of the courses in Sniper School is how to make and wear a Ghillie Suit.

Making the foliage loose so it provides a small disguise but not complete concealment might be better. I suppose the real question is whether or not this will work here like it has in Minecraft, and if it should even be done at all or if AoS simply isn't the kind of game for those sorts of visuals.

Imagine something like that in game http://i.imgur.com/momqf.png
it won't provide too much cover, but it will give +50 to overall terrain look. Or, instead of that, imagine bunch of low flowers or lone berry bushes or cannabis plants - whatever you want. Like i said, possibilities are endless, without making those plants a camping spots.

@1337101 so it's only matter of HOW this plants would appear. Possibilities are endless - eg. one object looking like few tiles of minecraft reeds next to each other, should looks nice without giving too much cover for campers.

@Camelsaurus: That's the one place I'd have no use for it at all. When I want to be sneaky around water I get in and crouch, and hug the shore I don't want to be seen from.

I won't deny that adding tall grass or bushes would be a bit realistic, but I'm concerned it will become a camper's dream-come-true.

Actually, it IS something new for the engine. The tent and intel are spawnable items that render like the player models, rather than as landscape features.

If you mean you WANT them to be insubtantial objects that just offer a little bit of cover, then I don't like the idea. Aren't command-post campers annoying enough already? Admittedly a bush won't regen your health or ammo, but having to spray every piece of flora you encounter just to make sure seems excessive to me.

I was thinking recently about small upgrade, who would add many fun to generated maps - random, useless "nature" objects. It could be bushes or high grasses etc. Now we have on map only 4 objects: 2 tents and 2 intels - thats why random maps looks little deserted. I think it least only a dozen or more of those nature objects, to add really more life to gen. maps and improve their overall look + those could be used as a hiding places (of course you still will be easily noticed on small distances or for those with rly good eagle eye skill).
And all that objects placement could be reseted same like tent, everytime when the score hits the limit, so the map will actually change a little, after each match.
I am not a programmer, but i think it's not a big feature, because there's already two kinds of random objects - so it's nothing new for the generator engine.
Just imagine those random maps with fancy voxel plants. Yup - it's awesome.
