Ace of Spades has historically been a pretty shallow game, and while we've seen updates to improve the presentation of the game and iron out technical wrinkles, we haven't really seen anything to make the game itself play better.

The way I envision it, AoS is basically about territory control. I want to preserve the basic gameplay as much as possible while adding some function so there's more strategy beyond choosing "Sneak the Intel", "Kill lots of Dudes on the other side of the map", or "Defend my own Intel". I noticed the follow system used by PySpades actually could do this, but was far too abusable in most cases.

I propose therefore, a new weapon which would replace the blocks in the inventory: The Supply Block. You can only carry one Supply Block, and wherever it's placed your team can choose to respawn ontop of it (Through a respawn screen such as those in the battlefield series, where you could respawn at your command post or any supply block) Supply blocks are shown on the map with a team colored X for both teams, and you cannot place supply blocks within a certain radius of enemy spawn blocks. Supply blocks covered on all sides become normal blocks in the same way that normal blocks lose their color, and lastly, supply blocks die in a single rifle shot, so you need to protect them.

The idea is to allow you to control territory and make front lines more "real", in addition to removing alot of the randomness from respawning anywhere on your own side.

Thoughts?
