[PXY]C on "Inserting Objects into Voxed problem... [SOLVED]"

I have done it before with absolutely no problem, but now, when I press U and import my object, it doesn't show up when I press map, or when I save the VXL file and open it again, or run it on a server. I can see it in voxed, but it is like it just vanishes when I save the map. I am currently working on a Valley map, so like a boarder of mountains, with a town and a river in the middle. Sorta like a default map with a town in the center.

~[PXY]C

Edit: I am SO stupid. I forgot to change it to KVX instead of KV6.

Comments and critique are appreciated. Suggestions are highly appreciated, as I'm still looking to improve the Green's side of the map. I ran out of ideas and thought playtesting would bring some good ones.
_________________________________________
ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
Hello, and welcome to a preview of my latest map. It's still very much a Work in Progress, but I'd like to see if there are any suggestions for this map.

I've been making "prefabs" on and off (mostly off) for the last few weeks, but today I made some headway with an actual map and I think it looks like it's coming together nicely.

The map is set in some nondescript industrial plant, with blues as police, trying to kill all the terrorists - greens - who have taken over the plant.

Anyway, on to the important part; Pictures!

#1: Blues Spawn
http://i51.tinypic.com/2elyqkm.png
This includes American-Style police cars and SWAT vans.

#2: Fully interiored buildings - and even some vehicles.
http://i52.tinypic.com/1547p1h.png
Here we have the interior of a warehouse, complete with articulated lorries being unloaded.

#3: Offices and Car Park
http://i52.tinypic.com/1yvfj5.png
Pretty self-explanitory.

#4: Offices, Lorries and Scaffolding.
http://i53.tinypic.com/w14qqe.png
Fully usable ladders are included and the scaffold offers another way to gain entry to the upper floors.

#5: Map
http://i52.tinypic.com/jjux5l.png
Very much WIP as you can see. Green spawn has yet to be started, and work on the Tank Farm (in middle) has only just started. I still need to start work on each flank as well. Foliage is also yet to be added.

So. there's my current project. I can't churn out map after map like some people because my work-rate is so damn slow, so don't expect this to be completed for at least a week or so - especially since I'm jetting off on holiday on Tuesday.

But for now, any comments? Anything you'd like to see added before things get too advanced? And even if you want to say something like "Looks cool", or "That is fucking shite", then please do so.

I'd never noticed this before but if you drag a .vxl mapfile onto the icon for voxed... it loads it! And here I was hitting F2+N+N all this time...

On another note, if you're a mapmaker or interested in making maps for AoS, you probably are already aware of VOXED, the nice little Ken Silverman program in the AoS program folder which you use to make maps. What you might not be aware of is another 3rd-party application that runs alongside it called 'Voxed Companion' by a fellow named Grapist. It remaps some of the keys and generally makes using Voxed a much more pleasurable experience. I recently stumbled over a post by him on the AoS Wiki here:

http://aceofspadeswiki.com/index.php?title=User:Grapist

It outlines all of the features, a lot of which I was unaware of, and I highly suggest reading it. You can also find a link for downloading it on that page. Be aware that because of the remapping some of the standard functions of Voxed are unavailable but you can temporarily suspend the hotkeys by right clicking on the icon in your status bar.

Anyways... been taking a little break from mapmaking lately since it's been so hot but now that it is cooling off I am slowly re-emerging. Glad to see some people running my maps on their servers.

Remember that this map is a work-in-progress so there may be bugs and its not quite finished.

The map has been finished. We're now on version 1.4.

DOWNLOAD THE LATEST VERSION HERE

Original Post;
_________________________________________________
Currently I am working on a Normandy-themed map, containing a small town in the centre with outlying farmlands and rural areas. Currently this map is very early in development; the town needs to be expanded by about 1/3, and the outlying areas are about 1/4 done, but I'd like to get a general feeling if there is a demand for a map like this, as well as any suggestions you may have.

All buildings are fully functional and all have interiors and windows to snipe out of. Some even have attics. Also, there are doors in this, which are 3 blocks of brown to be spaded out to 'open' them.

This means that you have to be tactical about how you play. Do you not 'close' the door by blocking it back up and risk the enemy investigating the building? Do you open a door and not go in, leading the enemy into a trap? Or do you think doors are for pansies and level the whole town? The decision will be yours.

Anyways, onto the more important stuff; Pictures!

Windows!

Streets!
http://i51.tinypic.com/33jtlpz.png

Instead of constantly overwriting lastsav.vxl, it would be nice to either be able to specify a name for the map save (using a prompt) or generating a different name for each save e.g. "sav230511-0930" (or something like that).
When backing up a map I just think it'd be useful to have this.

One thing I get most annoyed of is griefed-to-heck maps. People spend the time to build nice-looking, perfect maps, and yet some noob is going to run in there and mess everything up.

People build nice city maps, and after trying to join one all day, I find it nothing but colorful blocks and rubble. Many people are looking for a sanctuary where there are no griefers. How do we fight them? Votekicking hardly works.

My idea-Make a plug-in that allows custom VOXED maps that make them indestructible. That way, players can neither place, edit, nor destroy any map you create with the plugin. You can create a large, balanced map that no-one can change.

While the down-side is taking away in-game creativity, it can still make maps permanent and griefer-proof. I'd love to see this.

I have been tinkering around with the voxed editor, and I was wondering if anyone has figured out a way to copy a group of voxels and paste them onto a different part of the map? I've looked through the help file a few times over, and have tried to use the "duplicate box" function, but that doesn't really seem to do anything.

I also noticed that you can insert .KVX and .VOX files directly onto your map, but I haven't the foggiest idea how I would use that to copy and paste voxels from one part of the map to the other.

Could someone assist please?
