Not sure blocking team changes would do much, apart from prevent the people who switch to the other purely to take down their walls and other "strategic" nonsense (bad sportsmanship!!!!)

But if team switching were to be blocked, I know that some games will automatically have the server switch people at random to balance the teams out if they get too one-sided (and new joiners are automatically assigned).

As for the the blocking a route and shoot people, just go around! I guess you could dome over the tent though. I guess just better kick-votes is the way to go, with automatic temporary ban after being kicked

I think the best way to prevent griefing is to restrict easy team switching. Once you pick your first team you are on it even if you try to switch unless the other team votes on your decision to switch and allows it. That allows for team rebalancing if need be, but would restrict blue/green loyalist from changing sides just to cause choas

Not being able to remove team blocks would just let teammates grief you more.

I could just switch teams, surround your tent with blocks, then switch back.
You would be screwed.

Also, being able to team kill people who remove blocks would be horrible. I can block off a well traveled route, and just shoot anyone who removes a part of it.

No team-killing of any sort. I could just shoot anyone and everyone untill I am kicked. I could also steal the intel from team mates by shooting them on their way back.

What we need is better vote kicking.

General team killing/FF would be a bit of a nightmare!

It would be nice if that you temporarily became vulnerable to team killing after removing blocks placed by your team, e.g. 5-10 seconds after taking out a team block you can be shot.

Of course the highly visible "Kick CoolPlayerNamehere? 1 for yes, 2 for no, 3 to abstain" etc would be best as soon as someone starts a votekick

In my opinion there should be 2 types of blocks - enemy and team blocks so the game just won't allow you to break team blocks but only enemy and neutral blocks (neutral are those from the map). That would prevent the griefing and not lead to teamkill fest.

Or just have a votekick system like my Admin Tool. Displays who's being votekicked publicly.

Lexsym: !votekick Deuce24
ServerBot: Lexsym has started a votekick against Deuce24. (1 / (25% of current players)).
ServerBot: Type !yes to participate.

Just so everyone knows who you're kicking, and how to participate.

@loaf

Yes. Easiest way to solve it.

No teamkilling, that's a bad idea. I don't need to explain why.
And a 2 vote kick max is just begging to be griefed.

A GUI option is the only way, logically.

Nobody votekicks.
I think the problem stems from people not seeing the calls to votekick in chat.
An overlay asking for players to vote yes/no for a votekick (with a reason given) could solve this.

You should be able to team-kill, so you can kill griefers!

Votekicking works, but in the time it takes to kick somebody, they can grief huge structures easily. Once they're gone, the butthurt remains. So if you shoot them, you have enough time to get a votekick together before they respawn and come back. (And for obvious reasons you're not gonna want to chunk a grenade in somewhere you're trying to protect)

Alot of the AoS fun is killing enemy buildings, but some derper on YOUR team griefing YOUR base?? superlame. Also team-kills would allow randomly betraying your team-mates for no reason? superfun.
