I'm of the opinion that a competitive multi-player game should have a completely level playing field for all the players. Now, you can make the argument that another player could edit their files just as well as another player, but the end result is two different experiences for either player.

Either way, I'd have just as much fun playing either version, I just think by having one enforced look and feel you create a more coherent product. Ideally though, I think the choice to run a game with the vanilla version of the AOS or user mods should be at the discretion of the server.

yes, of course it's unbalancing.

there should be a server option to force players to use whatever mods the server is using.

I like the flexibility of AoS's game files - it lets you tailor everything to your desired experience. I myself ran with a red dot for some time, but the new 0.48 sights make that pointless. I'm all for changing models and sights to fit one's own interpretation of the AoS world, but I agree that neon pink and mile-long guns, as well as bright orange player skins, are a step too far. Furthermore, if one must modify the game that much in one's favor in order to enjoy oneself, that's quite sad.

Regardless, I highly doubt that these "cheater mods" are as vast an epidemic as the forums claim; perhaps the knowledge that the person who just killed one may have been using modified sights and skins gives one's weak-skinned ego a source of comfort.

Searching it only leads to a post where Beret references his own link to someone who clearly isn't interested. He also ignores the OP's post after linking other people to his post.

Kanye, why should I go for an ironsight that I deem fitting when I can have one can make me play substantially better?

Some people are better with some iron sights than others. I think a good solution is finding one that really works for you, and not giving a shit about the fact that you might have an "advantage."

Does anyone else see the ability of changing your semi.png to be unbalancing? We've seen the surplus of cowa dooty iron sights and skins, all they do is offer an advantage to those who use them. Why is such an unbalance allowed?
