^ Oh. Well I'm sorry to hear that. I was speaking in a half-kidding manner when I said that, only because I knew that my life had taken a turn for the worse, but I didn't actually mean to say your life was suddenly going down the drain the day you turned 16. It did for me though. Fell for a girl who was a bad influence on me, got into drinking and illegal stuff and what-not. This was accelerated by a few people a school too but I really got out of control once summer came. I kind of did it for an acceptance thing because I (much like yourself) was a bit of a low-key kid and had a lack of friends and I made too many bad ones too fast after my exposure to a truly juvenile lifestyle. I'm glad to say I've never had the misfortune of anyone so close to me taking their own life (sorry, that's rough) but my parents are pretty disconnected and I only get to see my dad on the weekends. I could go on but I think you get the deal. What I meant to say ultimately is that I started feeling depression when I was sixteen, I hope you hang in there a lot longer than I do.

As a word of advice, regarding you're social life and identity crisis, I'll promise you that you'll be much more grateful staying the way you are and surrounding yourself with positive headstrong people than committing to drugs or mischief just because you think it will make you more "popular". I go to a poor school in a dying city, but even if you live in a richer neighborhood I'm sure it wont be long before you see many of your friends and acquaintances drop out, go to jail, get forced out of heir homes, and lose their jobs just because they can't pass a piss test. All of this is about to happen at your age and when you look around and observe it, you'll know why you're on this path.

Sasquatch, I don't think my life could really get any worse. My stepdad done killed himself on the phone with my mother while she had it on speakerphone, which really wasn't a fun time, and on top of that, I've never seen my real father. I've lived as a social outcast just about my whole life, and haven't had a friend IRL for 2+ years.

Maybe, like you said, other aspects will turn to shit, but what I'm talking about is kind of rock-bottom.

Age is a strong indicator of maturity, don't fool yourself.
