up until a few years ago, "mod" in the gaming world was generally understood to be a completely reworked package; code, gameplay, items, skins, etc.

in the '90s for example, we had Quake, and then we had Quake mods, which were basically different kinds of games based on Quake's core design.

so OP is right, but so are those who disagree with him because today "mod" has many different meanings.

while we're being all nerdy about words, how about referring to cheaters as what they really are, simply "cheaters," and reserving the impressive term, "hacker," for the few who actually know what they're doing enough to deserve the title?

": doesn't equal ="

No durr it doesn't.

The :: sets up a comparison.

A:B::C:D
A is to B as C is to D

In this case, a skin is a type of mod, as a square is a type of rectangle.

Ok assholes just asking. But, prepare for flaming, when I played Minecraft, Texture Packs changed how the game LOOKED while MODS changed how the game PLAYED, so I think they should be called Textures or Skins, not Mods. Just me though.

p.s. Jackster, go fuck yourself if you're just going to be an ass.

Wrong. Skins are mods.

From wikipedia: Mods are made by the general public or a developer, and can be entirely new games in themselves, but mods are not standalone software and require the user to have the original release in order to run. They can include new items, weapons, characters, enemies, models, textures, levels, story lines, music, and game modes.

Note "models, textures" (not quite sure what slab6 weapons are, but they fit)

My request is that everyone stops calling their SKINS for guns and such MODS, because they are not MODS. They are a re-skin of the weapons. A mod changes the coding of the game to do something different. So therefore, they are not mods, just skins.

/rant (kinda)
