Because I cannot edit the OP anymore, I'm posting a darker alternative here.

I recommend this version as I was in fact originally going to darken the map.

In this map there is a narrow mountain range in between two rivers separating the two teams. The blue side is mountainous and the much wider river in the green side has many islands.
