Before the autoclimb implemented, I was imagining an autoclimb-system, where the players would jump automatically, when they hit the wall. This climb would have been smoother than now. But I saw the problems (autoclimbing, when we don't want), so I have improved my idea with an activation key.
An the other thing with this autojump-autoclimb. If the players would jump if they hit a 2 block high wall, they would jump again automatically, if there was an other block 1 block above the "wall". I would love this, because with this system, we could make ladders.

agree with AxletheNinja,
i reckon it should be 'autojump'. The convenience and ease of autoclimb is great, but its too fast, i really liked how going up hill was a big disadvantage, making the player on lower ground more vulnerable, and control of hill-tops super important.
So i reckon it should still be auto, but just like you are doing the jumping really well, therefore less frustrating but also no zipping around and popping everywhere.

Ugh, I liked climbing. But who really jumped just holding spacebar? sheez, I don't wonder if they didn't like it. The way you should jump, is to jump, and press ctrl few milliseconds before you reach the higher level block. It was very fast and easy way to move.

People's own fault if they can't climb. However, I think that autoclimb should stay, as it encourages much more going outside than sitting in tunnels and base forts. We've got much more ACTION by autoclimb, but I also miss whole team making uber tunnels and everybody trying to protect them, while few brave men went outside to try to capture the intel while the rest were disturbing the enemy, or building the base.
Good old days.. But as I've said many times before, there should be somekind of a button to enable it. Along with that, all the head-popping and getting-in-cover fails will be fixed! I can't understand how you people can base your points that crap.

So you say, that any error in moving should be the player's own, and with autoclimb, it's not. Hmm, and what about autofall? If you want to press a button every time, when you want to go upstairs, then why don't you want to press a button every time, when you want to go downstairs?
"I really hate when I run through a long bridge and accidentally hitting a ledge, and falling down, maybe to my death... because of auto fall. Without auto fall, any error in moving around was your own, and that's the way it should be. You should fall only when you press the fall down key on a ledge..."
Yeah, I think that's the point. Moreover, the player's should press the move button on EVERY step, so nobody would go more steps than he want. It would be amazing! (And the babies, who can't press the move button 1000-2000 times in a game should go to hell!)

I agree, it was so much fun being forced to press the space bar 50 times just to get up a mountain. Oh wait, it wasn't.

More fun then trying to navigate a late game battleground, and falling into a narrow deep chasm over and over because you'd got used to relying on auto climb? Or never being able to leap quickly into a trench or tunnel when you needed it most, because of auto-climb? Or trying to walk up to a high wall to use as cover, and accidentally hitting a ledge and popping up above the wall and getting your head blown off... because of auto climb?

Without auto climb, any error in moving around was your own, and that's the way it should be. If you missed someone it was because you missed them, not because auto climb decided to nudge you up a block or two, or nudge the enemy out of harm's way instantly.
