<description><p>What i mean by a "Good" sniper rifle is one that has increased zoom, and increased damage. maybe a 2-shot kill to the body, one to the head (Obvious) and slower aiming down scope, like an animation. not a full animation like COD, but an animation like you aim, and it automatically pulls up, but then you have sort of a slideshow animation of moving from almost complete black to the scope sight. EDIT: that way, snipers would have a dis-advantage toward riflemen, but an advantage over smg's and Assault rifles (If they are added) Agreed?

Some guns might definitely upset the balance, and what we don't need is a full list of smg's and assault rifles, and people running with them and spraying with little recoil to any distance, like in CoD. I'm not saying Call of Duty is a bad game (I love it myself) but it doesn't belong here. Mountable MGs would be great definitely.</p>
<p>I hope the update arrives fast, but as we know, programming takes time.

<description><p>What i would like to see is improved means of communication in the team, and more help in navigation. I'll just sprout what pops into my head:</p>
<p>- bigger and thicker text letters - they are too small and thin now. they are.<br />
- hotkeyed communication macros like: "cover me", "help me bulid/destroy this", "don't build there/destroy it", "stop shooting", etc. - in hot situations you really dont have time to chat, and the good team tactics count a lot there<br />
- status declaration macros like: "im going to charge/snipe/patrol/build" - so the whole team knows what you are doing<br />
- map marker tool, with it you could ping points of interest on the map, like in strategy games<br />
- when a votekicking is in progress, everyone could have a little info box in a corner with the text: "do you wish to kick xx?", plus a vote counter. And for voting, you simply have to hit a button like "I" for yes and "N" for no.<br />
- grid numbers and letters on the minimap too<br />
- special map options, that could be toggled, like: turning gird on/off; showing team member names over their white circle; an option to see the height of the top block instead of its color (like a relief map)</p>
<p>Also, joining the debate on the game's theme: I think this game is not representing any war. Moreover i think this game is very abstract, and it has a generic setting, that can be transformed into any theme.

<p>Marking enemies like they do in the *newest* games of the Battlefield series is a very bad idea. Basically it encourages the most unpredictable firefights in any game. You never know whether you are marked, but once you are, the entire enemy team knows EXACTLY where you are, even behind cover, for the next ten seconds which means they may as well be wall hacking for those 10 seconds. It makes it too easy to snipe around tight bends without so much as exposing a sliver of your body.</p>
<p>I miss Battlefield 1942 through Battlefield 2 where they would call out if they spotted an enemy and the coordinates would automatically display.

<description><p>Eh, the primary weapon looks far more like a M14 than a M1, but I'm not getting into that whole "AoS takes place in xxx era" debate lol.</p>
<p>Anyway, I am getting impatient. Yes, I know, it has only been like 5 days since 0.51 came out. But ever since Ben mentioned that he would be focusing on weapons and stuff now, my want of an automatic weapon has only grown stronger.</p>
<p>As I stated in another thread, having an automatic weapon (which is not as accurate as the standard rifle, but not horribly inaccurate) would help to prolong each firefight.</p>
<p>Most engagements only last a few seconds; find the enemy, aim for his head, shoot him, move on (or vice versa lol). Having a machine gun (or a sub machine gun) would cause people to "duck for cover" so to speak, popping up to take a few shots then getting back in cover. It might make battles more interesting. It would also be a far more suitable weapon than the standard rifle for providing cover fire.</p>
<p>When your team mate(s) ask you to cover them while they advance, your little 10 round magazine that the standard rifle provides will usually be inadequate when dealing with multiple enemies (unless all ten rounds are clean headshots). </p>
<p>Anyway, I AM GETTING IMPATIENT AND I WANT A NEW GUN NOW.</p>

<description><p>Guys this game is going to change a lot. Don't think you have to take into account balance issues quite yet. I would be creative with my ideas, but still keep suggestions as intuitive as possible. </p>
<p>...but yeah Custos, the tent is currently almost useless. It's really only helpful to people who want to build around it, yet really there is no purpose to building around it since it has no other uses and is not important enough to defend. Of course there is an exception if the intel somehow manages to be near the tent. </p>
<p>Personally I think it should be a destroyable spawn point as of right now. It just spawns in another random location once it's destroyed and prevents players for respawning for a while. I like the 30 second global respawn time idea for it too. It keeps players from constantly respawning and spawns players in groups that would be more likely to stay together.

<p>Today I realized, that restocking is just a waste of time.<br />
For example I am at the half of the map, building, and shooting the enemy. My ammo and health are getting too low, and I am tired of mining new blocks to build.<br />
I have two options:</p>
<ol>
<li>Run home for resupply, then run back to the frontline. If the CP spawned too back, this route takes more than 2 or 3 minutes.</li>
<li>Attack the enemy with low health and ammo, and take with you to death whoever you can. After respawn, you start with full inventory, and "clear" stats. So nobody cares you died. And if you attack like a berserker, it only takes 10-20 seconds to die, than 1 or 2 minutes to return to the front-line.</li>
</ol>
<p>So while the death doesn't count and the respawning players starts with better "stats" than the survivors, the CP is valuable only for grenade spammers.<br />
So we don't need cooldown, simply we don't need resupplying CP.<br />
Or let the resupplying stay, and implement the cooldown, but make the death more tragic. Maybe with respawn time, for example 30 sec globally. This will make the life of the soldiers more valuable.

<description><p>I'm split over whether new guns should be introduced. At the moment, it's a level playing field, and any new guns would need to not upset the balance, which would mean extensive testing.</p>
<p>What I would rather like to see is new game modes. Team Deathmatch would be top of my list, but I would also like things such as and attack/defend mode with capzones, a mode with one intel on the map, one team defends it, the other must capture it, etc.</p>
<p>Also, I would like to see (maybe a later release, not necessarily in 0.52) the option for a server to customise what is permitted to be used. For example - one server may remove the ability to use shovels - meaning they don't show in your inventory and cannot be selected - , build only servers could remove the use of guns, etc. Of course, this would mean the server list would need to be reworked to show what a server allows and forbids. </p>
<p>I think there should also be material strengths in both Voxed and ingame. For example, the blocks at the moment would be strength 1, and if a block was strength 2, it would take 2 shovel hits or 6 pickaxe hits to destroy, but uses 2 blocks to place in-game and takes 2 seconds to place one (to reflect the time spent reinforcing the block and also to deter block spammers), strength 4 would require 4 shovel hits or 12 pickaxe hits to destroy but needs 4 blocks and 4 seconds to place one, etc. The materials could range between 1 and 5, and at 5, a maximum of 10 blocks could be placed in a minimum of 50 seconds. </p>
