Having unique names would be a good thing.
Just do a namecheck and add an incremental counter to any duplicates.

OR just display their ID number along with the name, but I'd prefer the unique name solution

I think it would be easier to make everyone register. It's not that big of a deal to register.

I've seen plenty of games where if duplicate names exist, the game forces a suffix to make them unique. So if there were three Deuces it would turn them into Deuce, Deuce (1), and Deuce (2)

I'm willing to bet the dev is already planning to do this...it's simple, and also protects against other duplicate names.

Hrm. I would want to register as to preserve my unique name and to get rid of the deuces. I mean, it's annoying to see which one is which. Honestly, how would we want to get rid of that program another way?

I think defaulting to Deuce is pretty stupid. Kicking all Deuces is even more stupid.

Instead, names should default to something else. Since there won't be more than 52 nameless players on one server, I think that giving each Deuce/unnamed player the name of a card would be the best way to go. Someone's name would be King of Spades, Two of Diamonds, Three of Diamonds, etc. etc.

Two solutions, one is stupid, second is stupid too.
1. Play only on no-deuces servers (this is the stupid one)
2. Votekick deuce with high IP number and high kill count (stupid one too)

Each to their own, I just feel that having a name is easier on the team (e.g. saying "Hay, [name]" is easier than "Hay, Deuce. No, the other one. Is it you? I don't know. Jump. No, NOT you..."). But yeah, having the ID on popup would be a good solution.

Adding player IDs to name popups(and increasing their size a bit) and also adding IDs to kill and chat tags is the simplest solution.

We need a way to tell which deuce is which so we can vote-kick them. Considering deuces cause most of Ace of Spade's problems, I think that this has to be changed sooner or later.

Easy solution would to put the player number next to deuce's name in parenthesis. For example: Deuce(6).
