A stalemate map is a very soothing an relaxing thing. You can just slaughter without responsibility, you always know what to do, where are the teammates, where is the enemy (approximately).
But you never win or lose. Which is quite boring after a while.

A new game mode is a good idea.

PS: Hallway is not a bottleneck map, since no sane man runs in the middle corridor. Everyone just shovels around randomly, like in the original map.

I think in those bottleneck maps you talk about the respawning gets ridiculous, both in ofense and defense. Capturable spawn points maybe can solve the situation.

It seems as though people are preferring to play bottleneck maps (Bridgewars, Hallway, Pinpoint, Faceoff, Crossfire, Isthmus, Assault) which concentrate action into a small area over full maps. They are usually easy to navigate, with flat sectors and a well defined front line, but are typically in a constant stalemate with people taking pot shots at each other and can be very repetitive.

Large open (and more natural) maps are going to waste and really need capture and hold spawn points like in the Battlefield series to create the same kind of intensity and get more people to play them. Capturable spawn points also provide a relevant objective to focus on (unlike the intel) and make action more variable and interesting.
