Pyspades supports indestructible terrain, but you can still build and destroy blocks that are set after initial generation. It's an optional feature and I think it's a good idea, just as long as it's optional since not all people agree with it.

making a whole map invincible undermines the whole purpose of the game. I can see making map-generated buildings this way but making the land as such is ridiculous.

probably not, as that would drive me away. Griefing exists, and people just need to learn to accept it. We deal with it the only way possible. It's not like you can program an entire A.I that will automatically detect when a player IS GRIEFING.

besides, making all blocks invincible is stupid. I wouldn't mind a certain property to the block that sets it so it's invincible (for mapping reasons), but everything else is still destructible.

let's face it. this game is going to turn into a game where you have to feed some 12 year old admin's ego, build something nice and have it evaluated, and/or beg to get out of a spawning prison because blocks are indestructible (see: Sham's server) just to do anything, and god save you if you dare destroy random one-block high random-color jargon once you do

(just like minecraft)

Administrators can be annoying and immature sometimes, yes, but if it's their server, they can do what they want. I've said it before, and I'll repeat it here: their server, their rules. I would appreciate some admins being a bit more mature, yes, but ultimately how they use their computer and their internet connection is their business, providing they aren't being blatantly illegal.

They're admins and I have yet to see them do something wrong in my eyes. Only because he activated godmode (I probably didn't see it there, but I've seen it multiple times on that server) doesn't mean he abused it or used it for his advantage. We were dealing with a griefer at this moment, so this might be the cause for the god mode.

I didn't see anything wrong there. But those admins DO tend to mute players criticising them instead to explaining themselves.

There were admins, yes, but they didn't do anything wrong. And you seemed to be able to post stuff very well, since I read "FFS" and "FUCKERS" coming from you multiple times.

Also why did you make that thread anyway? What do you expect? It's their server and even if they were as abusive as you said (they aren't), nobody could do anything about it. "

Firstly, and they did, the obvious "mat^2 has turned on godmode" wasn't enough for you? And i was saying FFS and FUCKERS since the admins did that, and then i wrote that he was cheating for green team and it was unfair, i was then muted.

Yeah, I'm coming to really loathe PySpades (sorry, whoever wrote it). I far prefer Lexsym's (assuming she wrote it, correct me if I'm wrong) serverbot code... it fills the basic needs without screwing with other stuff unnecesarily (I'm sorry, but forced team-balance is retarded. I've never had serious issues with imbalance... generally there are enough mature players on a server to switch as soon as their attention is drawn to the issue).

That is why we need a way to identify un-supported third party servers from the official servers in the server browser. Besides all the stupid cheating hacks it allows, pyspades has floating block detection issues. You can see it when you join a server and there are blocks that appear to be connected on the corners instead of the adjacent sides. This means the players who loaded the game before you may have a completely different map. You might see someone climbing an invisible stair case, or you might see them run straight through a wall of bricks. There are definitely synchronization issues with that software.
