"When I use iron sights I actually aim slightly lower than my target area, then when I see an enemy I snap upwards to that position and shoot." -XenoXilus.

I have to do that too, and it's freaking ridiculous. At the moment I shoot, why am I forced to look at the chat log to see if I got the kill, instead of the center of the screen like any other shooter? Ironsights in general are pretty annoying, but in AoS they're completely out of place, not least because they block your view of the ground in front, which you pretty much need in constant view if you want to be able to move around.

Honestly if the Ironsights didn't zoom (and how does looking down the sights magnify the target anyway?) the way they do, then I'd never use them at all.

After a 2 round burst I look down again to see if they are dead. If they are not, I will see if they have spotted me. If they have spotted me, I run.

If not, repeat 2 round burst, and so on.

All i want to is to be allowed to edit the crosshair and iron sights, i don't see how it's considered cheating(i assume even when you look down the iron sights the direction the bullet travels is random so even if you got rid of the blurry crap and replaced it with an iron sight that has a better view, the accuracy wouldn't change. I might be wrong so don't take my word for it) For me i still can't hit jack with the iron sight without firing more than 3 rounds even it was directly on the guys head. Maybe i just suck.

And yeah, i have to agree with the Rifle, it is THE weapon, maybe a faster fire rate though, would help with close up and long distance

Anyway, he should focus on making the game work atm, because it will only run on XP

Even a sniper is pushing it. I think instead of a scope, all players should start by default with binoculars.

Shotguns can't headshot, but can still 1-hit in point blank e.g generic video game shotgun.

What I would prefer to see would be a revolver sidearm; less damage than either gun, but faster firing.

Also, bayonets would be awesome; simple little things like these would make the game both more fun/varies, but keep it out of any irritating grounds like sniping-wars, machine gun camping, vehicle spawnrape etc.

Personally I love the WWI feel of the game and I think adding a sniper rifle, assault rifle, etc. would ruin it.

However, I would like to see variety in weapons. Perhaps a semi-automatic carbine with lower accuracy to complement the rifle?

Deployable, static machine guns would be neat but they'd have to be inaccurate, do almost no damage to blocks, and be mostly built for cover fire. I don't think they would overpower green if done correctly.

Wow, I'm happy! I put in those other guns because I thought people wanted tons of guns, and I put those three as a compromise. I would much rather have just the rifle, and maybe a pistol.

Also, I think that making the rifle head-shots not be a insta kill would be good. Maybe they would do something like 80-90 damage, but it's frustrating being spawn killed three times by one camper. I guess that says more about spawn positions but still.

I think it's good how rifles are quite difficult to use at close range, as it makes headshots that more valueable. If you are a good shot and have good reflexes, then yes, there isn't an issue, but if you haven't then you have to be more careful and think each confrontation out, and be aware of how you will escape if ambushed. Also having two poor shots leads to the amusing situation of them chasing each other mountains and down valleys
TL:DR I don't think we need shotguns, unless you can have it instead of the rifle (i.e. some form of loadouts)

I'm not sure.

I'm not a big fan of machine guns, maybe mounted ones would be nice, but that'd make green overpowered.

Shotguns on the other side would be nice. With current rifle it takes lots of time and nerves to kill someone right in front of you, though it's fairly easy to snipe someone wandering through fog.

EDIT: Sniper rifles are useless. You can snipe efficiently using current rifle.

Guys, I see people suggesting C4 and vehicles and tons of guns. We should keep the game simple, so the great core aspect of the game can shine through. We only need three guns.

-rifle
-sniper
-shotgun

That's all we need. We don't need classes, having everyone on the same playing field is good. Vehicles wouldn't work with the terrain.

All I'm saying is don't bog the game down with tons of crap. Keep it simple.
