I don't think the Broville server has been up since a few updates, and in the update for 0.48, I see "another floating block detection fix", which is probably this.

I don't think the default server does that either. At least, Broville always seemed to have a bunch of floating blocks.

Actually I'd prefer this wasn't 'fixed' at all-- there are maps that make actual creative use of floating blocks, and cleaning them at map load just to save a lazy mapmaker a few minutes is dumb.
Omaha for example uses them to simulate barbed wire and other small structures, and it looks great.

Now that I recall it, the default server makes a "floodfill" of the ground when you initially start up the server to make sure there are no lose, flying blocks. It's essentially a map-bug, since the authors didn't remove these flying blocks when they did their map (unless they were intentional, in which case the pyspades behaviour is "right"). If you go into the game and press F1, then use that map in pyspades, it won't include the flying blocks in the Paradise map. Therefore, it's not a fatal issue at all, but I guess you should put it on the issue tracker if it's a major problem for you :)

No worries, I got it from Sham. I'll see if it happens with the normal server implementation.

Wouldn't it be a simple matter of saving the map with F1 or whatever key it is and uploading it from there?

Just saiyan.

This was fixed ages ago. The floating blocks you see are a part of the map. You get stuff like that on vanilla servers too. ;)

It's a known problem I think.

Has something to do with some kind of algorithm that finds blocks that aren't attached to the ground. Mat^2 knows what I'm talkin about.

Sometimes even the intel floats.

floating block issues.

Look here

You can see floating blocks across the whole map. I assume those used to be trees on the paradise map, as people knocked them down there maps would update correctly and anyone else joining would see the floating tops. This needs to be fixed

here

this another example, it is maybe a week older. But as you can see there are floating blocks. Fix this...
