Up until a few weeks ago, it had been years since I'd used it. If you don't really plan on using it too often the web interface is fine, otherwise a client like mIRC (what I use) is more logical.

You must take into consideration that I'm an IRC virgin. I've never used one till a few days ago.

I'm usually either programming or in a game but I tend to check in about every 15 minutes or so. Like Morthor said, there's a good bit of developers in there who are busy doing their own little thing. There are spurts of activity throughout the day though. I live in EST and usually around 3-4pm there's a lot of activity.

IRC is *usually* about 90% idling, 10% talk at best. #AoS is an active channel as it goes, especially for its size - perhaps 70% idle, 30% talk (including nights etc) which is quite an achievement really.
We don't mind talking, it's just that it is possible to choose a time where everyone's afk (especially if it's during the night in GMT).
Just give us a bit of time and some of us will be around - [wiki]Ace actually responded to you before you quit by the way..

Ironic/pathetic part is, the main reason I'm so active on here is because it's summer and /g/ and /prog/ are suffering from it's effects.

We aren't idleing on IRC, but the ppl who are mostly talking there are developers.
StackOverflow (Spadille creator), mat^2 (pyspades creator) and me (http://iammorthor.com/aos creator).

So we are either discussing ideas or writing some code. You can't expect us to be looking at the channel exactly on those 3 mins you stayed there =)
