I don't get why you want this game to be more like MineCraft and their save folder.

Most users don't even know where they installed Ace of Spades let alone how to get to %appdata%...

i agree that its a bit annoying to replace the default config.ini over and over again for each update but hey its a pretty early stage and 5y olds shouldnt play those games..
if those ppl dont know how to use a PC ... they shouldnt use it ?!!? =D

The developer could easily just have it so there is a simple Configuration Program that allows you to select Monitor Size, and set your name.

the whole point is that you aren't supposed to put editable files in %programfiles% because it is a secure folder. it's just plain wrong.

All they have to do is either edit the file as an administrator or set the file perditions to write.

you could use the same shortcut you already have...

programs->Ace of spades->config.ini
but people would actually be able to edit the file

It would be more better to have lurcher "like the Minecraft one" instead of making the config harder to get to.

The age range for the game starts low don't forget.

5 year old does not know what %appdata% folder is nor get to it.
