It's a little tricky, Enari, since they're generators, so there can be more than one map. Do you want the exes, or just a vxl, or multiple vxls?

I've done up a screen shot or three for each of the maps I've made so far.

I made them, but used a combo of images of my own, from google image search, and photoshop manipulation for everything. They were then imported using BCT.

@nothings Hehe... Fair enough. to be honest I wouldn't know how to describe his maps either. He has one that is a pizza! I just like them because they have a nice handmade feel to them. But thanks again for making that list.

Well, I basically limited it to maps that had been named in this thread, plus I have never seen any of Sasquatch's maps hosted, so it didn't pass the notability threshhold for me, nor do I have the ability to describe the maps, so it wasn't worth it. Feel free to add them if you do think they're notable enough!

Also I figured you did other maps, but if so I don't know which ones. As soon as you have a second one on the list you can get your own section. (Although maybe that structure is a terrible way to do this, I dunno; see the talk page.) Also, I wasn't sure if you'd rather go by "Buffet of Lies" or "Buffet_of_Lies", I guessed the former, but if not, feel free to fix it.

He doesn't seem very active the past few weeks though... I am glad I "made the list" but I do take exception to the "only one notable map" but other than that it's a pretty good list.

As far as people running out and starting up free forums, that's fine but is just going to leave us in a similar situation to what we have here with "official" and "unofficial" forums with different people on different forums with different obscure names...

Yep, that's the one I was thinking of. I updated the wiki.

I believe the unknown titled map "A city map with very large buildings" is meant to be Urban Warfare by PZL.

Juke|ProNabb also created an edited version of this map with holes blown into everything, also titled Urban Warfare.

I chose an arbitrary threshhold for notability, I hope nobody will find it inappapropriate since I'm one of the map creators (about half my maps passed it).

If anyone wants to copy the data from there to here or to some other forum or wiki, feel free (if you work from this specific version, then you can copy everything starting with "well-known custom maps" verbatim, because all of it was written by me and I am granting you a license to copy it, regardless of the license on the wiki (i couldn't find one).)

Yeah. A map maker forum or guild or something would be a good thing. I find the forums here to be fairly useless. I got more feedback on my Urban Tank Fight
while testing them live in-game than I do on here. I appreciate BloodLvst stepping up but his forums seem to be for a clan or something and really, nothing personal, it's just more of the same thing we have here in the official forums as well as the 'unofficial forums'. It would be nice to get just a map makers forum.

NOTE: the map named The Shadowlands is a map i made, that i never really got worked on, so ive had plans to re-work it for almost a month now. its only in there cause i didn't feel like re-uploading the whole file just to remove that one v0.2 map

Regardless of location, I think it's important that we can upload and share the maps. I like to design, share, not necessarily host a server... :D

I do use the AoS wiki from time to time, but like you said it hasnt been updated in a while.
Either way, what I'm trying to accomplish with the 4Q forum is a place to easily find everything for the game, but with constant feedback and user reviews

There's also the existing AoS wiki, which I'm pretty sure has a list of maps somewhere that's never been updated, but which might be worth using instead of a forum thread so that it's actually editable.

I have just the thing you guys are looking for... a fresh forum dedicated to helping AoS players find the mods maps and tools they need.

Probably a separate "maps" forum from "mods" would be nice.

You have "Forest River"; the full stb collection has a lot more maps though most never get hosted: Caves, Forest River, Incomplete Fortress, Skybridge, Rainbow Towers, Sinc, and Slope, and now I just released Jungle. All of these are generators, not just maps, so there can be many slightly different maps with this name.

There's currently a "BlueFlame Jungle Map" which is some kind of islands with jungles.

I know there are two city maps (not counting broville or harbor)--there was the original one that had a bunch of gigantic buildings and a wall down the center, and a variant (I guess) that had lots of holes everywhere (I only ever saw the variant). But there was also a totally different city map I saw once which had sewer tunnels under the roads.

Crossfire (the map looks like a big X).

There were two "icy" maps I saw, one which had narrow paths east and west at the top, and big ice chasms east-and-west between them, and another which was mostly water (I think) but then iced over islands.

Vastland is another new one.

There was a "winter forest" map, forget what it was called.
