Just take the older version, see the difference between the original and modified server, apply that to the new server. Works.

It's the serverside, so you'd probably run it the same way you'd run the normal server. Forward the port if necessary. I'm not quite sure if the advertised URL works, but it probably should. If not, invert your URL (123.45.67.89 -> 89.67.45.123) and run the inverted IP through an IP to decimal encoder.

If you want to connect to a locally run server, aos://16777343 will ALWAYS be the link. Other people won't be able to connect with that link, as it'll just direct them to their own computer.

Put it in your AoS folder, start it up like you would a normal server.

I think it's an older version though.

Rose is correct on that being what we've been looking for. I believe it's an older version, though...but I'm not 100% certain on that part. I do know my friend downloaded a similar file from the FP forums a couple of days ago to run a small LAN game, but that was even before the 0.30 update.

Rose, that thing you posted is the actual serever program to create a server, not to play. Noobs these days.

I think that it would be a great idea for people to be able to get their own, private server and use the code that they hand out to people. It obviously is not putting any strain whatsoever on the main server. It would be really awesome to get the .exe to run and just give only certain people the address. If the devs or the owner of the server does not want to share the code then at least they should put a password system to access the server (If there is not one already). I'm looking at this not only for the server downtimes but also for a possible plan in the future for peeps to share their own private servers. I would actually love to see people make servers with special maps and share them. I think the servers also need a way to BAN OR KICK THE IP ADDRESS instead of just a temporary kick for the hackers and griefers.

But then again I think it would be more of a global suggestion.

It's what my great grandpa said before he went to war in WWII, he came back and live a few months to tell my family so it's a little thing I say, means nothing and also. I was aware of that server already. What the community REALLY needs is the server program running there, so that we can still end up with a couple of servers running rather than everyone trying to get into a single one.

Is there anyone here who can contact that server's host and see if they'll release the standalone version? I don't have a FP account myself (or not that I know of anyway)
