I agree with you, 1337101 - on all counts.

Definitely a map that plays better full than empty.

I just played on this, and liked it. It's a nice map that encourages combat and makes building hard enough that the "pointless" builders won't be attracted to it. The one thing I would watch out for is the maximum amount of players. On this terrain, the only places that enemies will encounter each other consistently is in the spawns, unless you have lots of players in the server. With 20 or more players the experience will be more fun.

Seems like the type of map for mountain battles.

That middle area seems like the best place for bunkers/foxholes.

Red Serpent is my latest little map experiment.

I involves an fairly high (about 10 blocks of building above peak) undulating landscape with deep (to water level) serpentine valley slithering through the middle of the map on a slight angle. Bridges, tunnels, and careful listening are in order.

I'll leave it up for a few hours as Red Serpent of Death for anyone wanting to give it a shot and provide feedback (here is best). I'd leave it up longer, but at ~1GB/hour my Canadian bandwidth suffers :( I'm a builder, not a hoster.
