Hm...this is strange. I suspect the Windows account you're using has insufficient privileges to make changes to the "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT" branch of the registry. Are you sure you're using an administrator account?

If not, log off your current account and log on to your administrator account. Then first try this:
- Uninstall the game.
- Reinstall it by rightclicking it and using "Open as administrator".
- It should work now.

If it still doesn't work:
- Under your administrator account, try the "mime_aos.reg"-file again.

If it still doesn't work:
- Use this tutorial to enable the hidden built-in administrator account.
- Then try the "mime_aos.reg"-file again.
- Don't forget to disable the account again.

Now pls tell me it works. :S

(I guess the main problem was that you didn't install the game with rightclicking it and "Open as administrator" in the first place, or did you? That's why the game could not register the aos-mime, so the browsers don't recognize it.)

Oh lol...so even your ".reg"-extension is screwed?
It's not an archive. It's just a textfile with the following content:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\aos]
"URL Protocol"=""
@="URL:Ace of Spades Protocol"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\aos\DefaultIcon]
@="client.exe,1"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\aos\shell]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\aos\shell\open]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\aos\shell\open\command]
@="\"C:\\Program Files\\Ace of Spades\\client.exe\" \"%1\""

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you doubleclick on it, it should create (and overwrite) those keys to the registry.

Try the following:
- click on Start and type into the search field: %systemroot%
- an Explorer window shows up
- now navigate to "regedit.exe", rightclick it and open it as administrator
- click on "File" on the top left and "Import" and locate the "mime_aos.reg" file and press "Open"
- Now close Internet Explorer and try again to play AoS by clicking on one of the servers. If it still doesn't work: Restart your computer and try again.

Btw: Which version of Internet Explorer are you using? You're fine if you're using version 9. If not, download and install it (using Windows Update or external sources via Google).
And may I ask why your file is named "Mine_aos.reg"? My uploaded file is called "mime_aos.reg". It doesn't actually matter but maybe your download got corrupted. Download it again here.

You're using Chrome. Maybe Chrome doesn't check the aos-protocol correctly. Try joining a server with internet explorer.
Another idea would be: Read this post and download the reg-file. I don't know how Chrome handles mime-protocols but maybe it will recognize it. Otherwise download Firefox.
