For me, I think of a good theme for a map.

Then I design what I call the "prefabs" - items in Slab6 that are to be imported - either from my own experiences, or from googling buildings and objects that would be found in the theme.

Google some amazing buildings, creations, but I liked Mr. White's version, a lot.

For me I'd try making recreations of buildings that I been to or seen in real life, like my mall, construction sites, and city area. One time I made a recreation of my Art Museum with it's park that was nearby it. Hope that helps.
