Explain to me why I should care? It's a single puppy. It's not the dog holocaust here. Sure what they did was wrong, but tell me, do you HONESTLY care this much about a dog you have never heard of or seen in the past?
I don't like animal cruelty any more than the next guy, but come on, all of this attention is unneeded. Just send the kids to a mental institution and that should be the end of it.
Also, I'm fairly certain this didn't happen in the USA (wouldn't know since I didn't watch the video). Another reason you people need to stop caring so much - this probably happened somewhere where they have different beliefs and understandings from us.

To them, and many other countries, dogs roam the streets commonly. They're something of a pest. To them, this is as entertaining as pissing in an ant mound or using mousetraps. They couldn't care less about these annoying, scavenging, disease-carrying dogs.

If anything, this is less of a shock video and moreso a cultural indicator.

I hope the people who burned the puppy get raped multiple times by their cellmates in jail.

The reason we all feel so strongly about this video is because almost every human on this earth has a special talent that many other organisms have. This talent is called empathy. What we see, hear, and feel from other things ranging from a tiny bug to other humans can be copied by our own brains.

An example of this is back when brain activity was first being studied. Not long after scientists discovered how to track brain function they began to study it in animals. One day while tracking the brain functions of a monkey opening and eating nuts. While they were recording this another scientist near the monkey got hungry and opened then ate one of the nuts. The monkey, who was watching him, showed many of the same brain functions as if he had been eating it. The scientists passed it off as a malfunction of the machine. Years later more study was put into this and more knowledge of empathy came out.

When you see someone is tired, you feel tired. If someone is happy, you tend to feel happy. This is empathy. We have this great ability to read the emotions of the living things around us. We all feel the happiness and pain of other things. That is why organisations like PETA or HS US fight for animals who are mistreated.

Now, I bet you are saying to yourself: "But I eat meat, and I can stand the fact that a cow was killed for food." Well, along with the empathy we have a bypass system. If you need to survive you can get over empathy and eat meat or kill something (Or someone.)

The only thing that still confuses me to this day is sadists (Like the dog burners.) How it is that someone that has empathy can justify causing pain for enjoyment is beyond me. Sadism must literally be a full on mental illness for someone to bypass a brain system for things other than survival. I hope that people who burned the dog in the video get both arrested and get treatment for their sadism.

And what about Deer Hunting? Well, we actually do it to 'balance' the population of deer. They can over populate sometimes and eat everything, then they starve, then they die out.

Hunting=PROFIT

This reminds me of something that happened around where I live. Some douchebags trapped a raccoon in a cage and lit it on fire. Very sad.
