What do you guys think of a resource-based economy?

I'm asking because I have to do a speech in class about it and was wondering what everybody thought of the idea.

How it relates to computer technology is anyone's best guess, but I've gotta go through "career preparation period" before I get to start my vocation. I'm almost done, I'm in my final week of it.
