Doesent matter, After the bot kicks them the IP is logged by Pyspades automatically as if an Admin was there. There is nothing they can do with their names to change that.
Even better, is that if the person has a Dynamic IP that changes their IP, and they try logging in with the same flagged text, it loggs and bans the new IP too! Just making the list longer, and more complete :D

So it is possible to do useful things with names. Even if people do not automate it ,Admins can have a good idea about who to watch, then decide for themselves.

You might try administration for a while before giving tips to people on the subject. I find names, IP's, and clan tags very useful.
Telling people they are not, is just untrue and misleading.

Not true. If you use the IRC chatbot you can do lots of crazy thing that is not scripted into AoS or Pyspades.

If you run an IRC chatbot, you can add the names to the "shitlist" with wildcards.
Works great, i have already pre-banned a couple of clans who insist on ruining other peoples fun. About to add another in a few moments.

After I go through the chatbots nightly bans and kicks, I manually add the IP's of people to the banlist the next morning form the logfile, to my permaban list

Going to start publishing the IP's of these guys too so you other admins can block them by cutting and pasting. (until i get on the pyspades "trusted" list for the blacklist.For all i know i might already be on it.)

I had some kid on who was killing people with blocks. It had the same power as the Semi so i let it go for a while. He was a nice kid... polite and helped team mates out. I felt bad about perma banning him, but I cant tolerate people circumventing my security.

Right now the best way to combat this is by not leaving servers unattended. Set up the IRC chatbot, and have a bunch of words hilighted, like vote* ban* and admin*. That way you do not need to be ingame to get an idea of what is going on.

Apparently the admin edited my post, so I'll just re-add the part that says that the hacks are a lot more widespread now, seeing how they're not necessarily hard to find anymore.

Finally, what Khan said. Hacks don't necessarily ruin the game, it all depends on what the developer and community plan to do to combat the hacks. And the whole "someone is close to making an aimbot" post made me lol, as there already is an aimbot, just not one released publicly.

Why does it even matter if the Admins see this? It's not like they could do anything with the information you are giving. All you have is two names. It's easy enough to change your name and for all you know they could be impersonating another player.
