Just install the latest hotfix (v0.41). It fixed that issue.

Ace of Spades Beta 0.41:
-vxl folder added to installer
-version fix test

Some ppl get this problem.

A more recent version of Ace of Spades is already installed on this computer.

The solution is pretty simple. Deinstall->Reinstall

Go to your windows control panel
http://www.windowspasswordsrecovery.com/images/knowledge/create-a-windows-7-logon-password/start-control-panel-windows7.jpg
and then "Programms and Features" and deinstall AoS

now Reinstall the fresh installation...

just a hint... install it to a custom path and NOT programmfiles to prevent this config.ini problem with writeacces =)

ok it seems that not everyone can solve this problem by a fresh reinstall
