I reckon the best way to balance the SMG a bit would be to add a toggle for single or fully automatic fire. That and making headshots a one-hit kill for every weapon, individual shotgun pellets included.

Put more power onto SMG. Tiny but more recoil. SMG now = Assualt Rifle :D

Seriously, right now the aim is quite realistic. And its no longer a game dominating weapon.

Remember the days when you couldn't walk 2 feet from you spawn without getting killed? now its much harder to spawn camp...

Its still a very good long range wep, but not OP like before, the only ppl that want it reverted back to a game dominating weapon are:

A) ppl that arnt very good at the game and require pinpoint accuracy in order to play effectively

B) People that just want the game reverted back to 0.26 and remove all updates past that point, why they want that? i dont know, but they voice it on the forums occasionally.

In 0.60 the smg will receive a much needed accuracy buff, this will make the gameplay alot more balanced, currently using a rifle is the only way to play anywhere near decently. And the rifle is still the most dominating wepaon by far.

When the smg with increased accuracy comes along, it will serve as a very good alternative, which is deadlier then rifle at closer ranges.

If in 0.60 you complain you cant get close enough to enemy intel with rifle because of "hurr gay OP'd smg derrr" then do the smart thing and switch to the smg.
