You can connect through LAN with commandline and localhost translated into a AOS address, or at least you can connect to your own server that way. Look up hosting a server on aos wiki.

I'm having a lan party in a few weeks time and i thought that aos might be a good game to play.
any idea if this can be done?
and if so how?
