<description><p>I think you could add weapons without wrecking the balance if everyone could carry them all at once Unreal Tournament style, but the rifle is just so well suited to the game already. The only way you could bring in new weapons would be to lower the rifle's effectiveness, which would completely suck. So I'd have to say no to new weapons.</p>
<p>And a trench gun/shotgun? Are you serious? An enemy with a rifle could kill you six times over before you'd even have a chance to use that useless thing. Even more so for a knife. Besides even if the knife/shotgun was an instant kill below a certain range, a rifle shot to the head still renders it obsolete, and anyone with half decent aim can do that. If your aim is so bad that you think a shotgun in this kind of game would actually be a good idea, then you're really probably playing the wrong game. So yeah, no to new guns.</p>
<p> Except for a satchel charge, we definitely need that.

<description><p>@Brojangles: I stopped reading at "Bayonet/Knife" in the DO ADD list. No, no, NO, NO NO. I wouldn't give two shits if an automatic grenade launcher with 10 block radius and instant kill was added, but a fucking instant kill knife? No. To be honest, though, if you mean something that functions completely different from the CoD4+ knife, then it's only kinda no. The insta kill would still make it overpowered, though, in my opinion. An instant-kill backstab only, however, would seem fair enough.</p>
<p>Random rant, sorry. Something about knives in games just hits a nerve for me.</p>
<p>Yes for new weapons. Trench gun, please. Maybe even a coach gun.

<p>DO NOT ADD:<br />
Scoped/sniper rifle - The current gun is enough of a sniper and a scoped weapon would just promote even more sitting in a hidey hole for hours and less dynamic play<br />
Mortar - It's no fun to get killed by shells coming from somewhere you can't see and it's not satisfying to kill something you can't see. If they destroyed blocks they would also render topside fortifications near useless.</p>
<p>DO ADD:<br />
Trench gun: A shotgun would be ineffective on the ground, but much more useful in closed environments like tunnels and structures, this would promote varied playstyles<br />
Bayonet/Knife: Instant kill, but only range of one block of course. Could add another dynamic in very close range and would be useful as an emergency sidearm.<br />
Mounted MG: Yes it's been suggested a thousand times, but I think it would promote holding locations more, which is more enjoyable than throwing yourselves at the intel tower alone.</p>
<p>ON THE FENCE:<br />
Handheld full auto weapons: Unless they did low damage I can see them taking over use of the default rifle completely, alternatively they could add to the game if added in a balanced way.</p>
<p>The knife gave me an idea for a way to include mines.<br />
You choose to take land mines rather than grenades, after being placed on the ground they become invisible to enemies after 3 seconds. Friendlies can see transparent versions of the mines. <description><p>Nah, we don't really need new weapons. In the first world war, they didn't used a big assortment of guns weapons. It would be nice maybe an "extra weapon" you can get at the tent in a random roulette (or based on how many kills you have done?).<br />
An heavy machine gun (that you can't use anywhere but you have to put it down), a flamethrower, a gas granade...
