Coincidentally, today I found an example of exactly was I was trying to make. The results look very promising and I'm sure I'll be using this engine when I'm ready to move onto that part.

Anyways, check out these demos. They are all written for HTML 5 so you'll need the latest version of the browser your using, but IE 8 won't do. Chrome is probably the best for this, although Opera and FF4 should also be okay.

The map editor we have now is usable, but a better one would be nice.

If you have already started it, do continue to work on it. It would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, although it haves some needs of improvements. Now I'm very very much wanting a simple copy-paste tool. None of you wants to know what happened.

Definitely need something with a better UI. I'm sure people who are familiar with 3D editors are fine with any UI but if we want more than just that 1% of the population to be making maps we need something more.

The only thing the editor needs honestly, is a way to select all your voxels, and move them on an axis.

This is mainly useful for weapon editing. I've had to remake the weapon I'm working on MULTIPLE times so I can get the axis right, so it looks good when the player is holding it, just to move the entire weapon over one voxel.

the controls in the current editor make sense once your used to them, and you can paint in the current editor :P

It sounds like you need a simple map editor, and that's exactly what I want to create. Features like left click for placement, right click for removal, being able to paint on colours. I'd also like to designate the spawn zones and respective sides of the map, just a bunch of nice things to have.

We do not need a new one.. we just need a better version of the current one.
There's alot of conceptually easy things to change which would make it alot easier to use.
