@Naka: 'how do you know the engine has a "framerate limiter"'
Because the examples from the voxlap engine download have an FPS limiter in the form of a 'drawing less when turning fast' function. I would be surprised if this wasn't used by Ben in AoS. Also, since the behaviour is 'turning faster = choppier', it is more likely this is the case.

Are you sure you know what you're talking about, how do you know the engine has a "framerate limiter" that "kicks in"? What importance does a framerate limiter have regardless?

Since when are you an expert on this engine, and why do you assume we know how the engine works?
Also, spellcheck your posts.

@Beret
I totally mind if the resolution is changed back. I want to be able to see shit, I want the game to look OK, and I don't want the game to go to shit if I tell it to run in a higher resolution.

I don't really mind if the resolution changes back or not, but I have to say that modability is WAY more important than superficial pretty looks.

@Naka
it has to do with the fact there are more voxels that need to be rendered on-screen, and so the framerate limiter kicks in to keep things running "smoothly" instead of having frame randomly drops (which still happens) it lowers the framerate in general so the game runs "smoothly" (when instead everything gets choppier) the blurriness is caused by him making it 800x600, but because of all the new voxels needing to be rendered it makes the game lose to many frames running it in its previous resolution (I just recently tested this out)

@Drury
I honestly have to idea how you would think 3x3 resolution over 2x2 or 4x4 is "perfect" either you have some comical/wonky looking gun models in the works, or know nothing about how things are usually dimensioned in the real world. (I ant my guns to look as accurate as possible, which cant be done with overly skinny barrels and XBOXHEUG buttstocks)

@Howching
Making smaller models wont fix the framerate issues, all it will do is make the weapons look really small. Learn about what you are talking about before you speak son.

@Brojangles
The defaults DONT look pretty, and upgrading you computer has NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW THE GAME GETS RENDERED WHILE RUNNING

I am not the only person who has been pointing these things out.

GOD!!! WHY IS EVERYBODY SO DAMN STUPID AND IGNORANT!?!?!?

Yes, there is a huge framerate drop and blurriness introduced in the latest version, how can you tell it's the gun resolution causing this? I assumed it was the default resolution change to 800x600 that caused this, as when I increased resolution in the 0.37 from the default 1024xXXX it resulted in a simular framerate drop. If this is causing the problem, something needs to be done.

@Brojangles
My processor has 6 cores.

Pretty default looks are more important than how easy you find it to mod.
Also if it gives you frame rate drop you should really think about upgrading your computer

Not only does the new gun resolution cause extra blurriness and frame dropping, but the new gun model dimensions are odd and don't work well with gun designs.

Either the bun barrels are too skinny or too thick, and you cant creat good scopes that don't look blocky or too skinny

plus you cannot upscale any preexisting gun models since the resolution has been increased x3 instead of x2 or x4, making it more difficult to creat weapons or upscale models already in development.

So please Ben, either make the gun resolutions their standard again, as half the charm of the guns was their simple design and using smart coloring/block placement to make them LOOK more detailed

Or make it double resolution of the original instead of the current resolution, that will help out the FPS rate and allow modders like me an easier time making appropriate models in the correct dimensions
