Just reading through the wiki, I think there's some obvious common sense type of stuff that could be applied. I am not really sure how these will affect game balance, so please read and suggest improvements on these ideas. 1. Rifles take 4 shots to destroy a block instead of 3. I just think it's better to have a different number of hits for rifles to destroy blocks than pickaxes. And for rifles to be worse at it than pickaxes. It would mean increased long distance fortress strength, making fortifications more valuable for defending against fire. 2. Blocks placed by players are more resistant to shovels. It just seems a bit silly to build something and then have it easily torn down by shovels. Maybe it would be better on the whole for shovels to take two hits to destroy a block and have a low refire rate? In general the idea is to clear blocks faster than the pickaxe, but still not become a fortification buster. 3. Grenades have something more of a circular pattern rather than a 3x3x3 cube. That and having the center of them deal 600 damage is just silly, no player has that much health apart from hackers. That and maybe a larger splash area which deals smaller amounts of damage outside the immediate blast zone. 4. A resupply point that gives a limited refill of ammo/health and can only be activated by a given player once every 10-20 seconds to avoid camping it to use it like the base. Maybe make it movable by hitting it from one side over another, but at least make it positioned closer to the enemy. 5. Maybe have the rifle deal something other than just even integers of 40 damage depending on where it hits? I mean, as is, there's no reason to have 100 points of health instead of just 3. I don't really know how this could be implemented. 6. Perhaps a map editor, or at least more variation in the terrain engine. It would be nice to have some cleverly designed competitive maps, or at least alternative formulas for procedurally generated ones. I really love the idea of characterizing the two different sides based upon the terrain they spawn on. 7. A melee weapon of some kind would be nice. Ideally doing 50-60 damage so it could take a person out in two hits up close and of course 100 for a head shot. It would add elements of space control to combat. |

1. Forts are extremely easy to repair if there's anyone in it. They can hide behind an undamaged part and replace the block in a second. |
