  • Make it harder to aim?

    I feel the usefullness of cover is somewhat negated by how easy it is to shoot people. I find that taking a dug in position is useless because even though you have lower visibility they just shoot you in the head really quick upon sight. On the other side I can just walk around and headshot those who are in cover just because i can click a little bit faster than them.
    It really detracts from the usefullness of taking territory and building defenses that makes this game great.

    possible suggestions:
    - rifle sway that increases while moving and standing, lowest (or nonexistent) when crouching and being still.
    - Make the head smaller, I think the head should be 2 "pixels" (whatever those little boxes are)
    - or just make the gun not perfectly accurate (least preferable suggestion)

    i like your first suggestion

    i also like the idea of bullet drops, so that instead of always aiming exactly where you want the bullet to go, you have to aim higher the farther away your target is

    I think that the aiming is fine, personally, but a little more sway whilst moving and a little bit when standing could be a good idea.

    The problem is not that i keep dying. the problem is on both sides, its too easy to kill and its too easy to be killed. If i wanted the game to be all "shoot them before they shoot you" i'd play call of duty. The advantage given by cover is too small to be of any use because i can easily click on everyones heads before they do so on mine.

    At first, this idea appears good to me. But i am afraid that this could make intel campers almost immortal, and intels impossible to get, without using rat tunnels.
    I already witness many complains about intel campers, and changes like that would only make things worse.
    Also, i bet that @Jamah experienced headshots while in-cover mostly on short & mid ranges - at the "fog border" distances, covered sharpshooters simply own the uncovered runners, and that's the distance that you should keep, as stationary shooter - if you let enemy get closer, it's your fault.

    Good idea on everything and the "pixels" are called voxels. And if its only 2 voxels apart than it will look like those body-builder with small heads! All they will need to do is that wen ur walking the accuracy is drastically when moving. wen crouched and walking ur accuarcy is better than wen walking up right.

    The shoot better live longer style the game has is perfect.
    Don't complain about dying too quickly, it's more real than CoD where you can take ten bullets and live.
    If the developer(s) were to change anything, I think it should be realistic bullet drop, that would make everything not only more challenging, but more rewarding when you hit things, and more realistic.

    If you are dying too much Jamah, it's up to YOU to change your tactics. The aiming is fine, and is harder than originally because of auto climb. If someone sees you dive into cover, DON'T stick your head out straight away on the same side! That's just what any opponent worth half his salt would be expecting.

    I find the best cover is often moving quickly and unpredictably. Give it a shot.

    We need helmuts. Like say, you have the OPTION of wearing one, and if you do, it decreases your running speed by 50%. So it'd be for snipers. What the helmut would do is make the hits needed to kill you from headshots 2-3 instead of 1.

    Ballistics would be great, it's point-and-click killing at the moment. You run full tilt past a one block large hole, have your head exposed for a fraction of a second and boom - you're dead.

    Headshot mechanics really hurt the immersion in a game, and with instant hit hitscan weapons it can get really annoying.

    I love games with actual bullet physics where you have to aim your shots. Makes those long range kills much more satisfactory. I guess it's kinda hard to implement though, and tracking all those shots would probably kick up the system requirements.

    no offense but i dont like komies coming in here and saying to remove the semi. our semi is like a antique and so special due to the fact that it was the irst gun in AoS ever it stuck with us through the times it looked like crap until now it is shaded and everything else

    My solution is to make a better sight. :) I determine my accuracy by the way I outfit my sights. Usually I make my guns look cool though at the cost of accurcay/peripheral vision... XP

    just use a black image for iron sights, and it's alot harder to aim.
