Can see people trying to connect to my server, but they get an error

I'm hosting a server on my home desktop, with the port forwarded. I'm able to connect and anyone on my lan is able to connect. However, anyone connecting via the internet is detected by the server program, but is disconnected soon after. The internet user merely sees a vague "version mismatch or map transfer fail" error.

Can anyone help with this?
