This happened on the pinpoint server. A guy goes around placing random miscolored blocks on buildings. Right when other people try to destroy them, he shoots the people and continue placing more blocks. |

This isn't a new kind of grief. People have been doing this ever since team killing was implemented into the game and everyone is aware of it. RtMDL, you're just saying that to make yourself look cool so go away. |

Yes I'm the one judging when you said "that guy is just lonely or just 5 years old" and "you sir are just a deuche bag and really needs to get a life". Don't be a hypocrite if you want to actually make a good argument, it just makes you look stupid. |

At least its better then leveling any useful structures. |

Break blocks from far away with your gun or wall him in with blocks. I think you can force him into the hall of mirrors effect if you place a block on his head. |

This happened to me the other day when i played last, i was on the green team. I dont know if friendly fire only becomes active if you destroy blocks someone from your side creates or its active gameplay wise any way? Dealing with griefers beyond what is already in place the votekick option (which i had to google to find out how to do that) i saw during the course of a recent game people voting to kick another player, a bunch of people joined in the voting, then some ask why were they voting a player to be kicked, kind of like vote first then ask after. Perhaps some players did deserved to be kicked but some others could of been falsely accused of wrong doing because of a flame war doing on in the chat you can never know if its justified unless you have witnessed the said person griefing. Hopefully this can be controlled in a better way. Maybe there could be a vote for a suspected griefer to have his pickaxe and shovel And make it for friendly fire, the shooter takes the damage himself when he hits another team member who will remain unaffected. This might deter some misuse of voting, since the worst one could do is have another player reverted to soldier only and friendly fire affecting the person who shoots. This would be less incentive for people to vote unless there is a genuine case of griefing as it should be. |

Team killing is only active when destroying blocks or in certain cases of nadeing and shooting. But good idea for shooting at a team-mate killing you, if the person you are shooting is not digging. |

This is far from new! People have been using this technique since the dawn of time... |

Vote kick first! ask questions later, if your wrongly accused, speak in chat and votekick the other guy. I'd rather see someone wrongly accused then have a griefer doing havoc and is ignored by everybody. Besides you can be wrongly kicked if the other guy frames you anyway since the players have a sheep like mind that don't think about the context. |

Vote kicking never happens. I haven't seen anyone get vote kicked all month. |

vote kicking on normal servers are invisible which is why it rarely happens. anyways just dont worry about the blocks. yeah theyre ugly but its not like hes griefing everything in sight. |

Gosh, I hate the "Hall of Mirrors" glitch. The only way out is to commit 'nade suicide, which will usually screw your structures up even more. I've encountered a troll using this glitch against people before, and it took an age and a half to votekick him. Meanwhile, he was busy griefing one of the most important bunkers on the map. Wrongful votekicks are also becoming a slight problem, although usually if you protest loudly enough and challenge your accuser to provide other witnesses, you can save yourself. Several times I've accused people of hacking, griefing, or trolling on a Serverbot or PySpades server, only to have them start a votekick against me. None of them have succeeded so far, but a few have come uncomfortably close, and that can be a problem. It's still slightly too hard, even on those servers, to kick a hacker, griefer, or troll, yet it's also too easy to kick a perfectly innocent player. The best approach would be a few automated controls... better checksums for the servers, for example, which could go over your client with a fine-toothed comb and deny access if your client is at all modified (but please, please let us continue modifying our .kv6 and .png files). Hacking is down a lot, it's true, especially now that Cheat Engine doesn't work on AoS, but I've still encountered a few foghackers and aimbots (one person, by the username of AkQ, was found guilty of using both by pretty much the entire opposing team, on an open water map, where there wasn't anywhere to hide really well. That, I feel, is the closest to concrete evidence we can hope to attain, and it should be strong enough to be considered at least mostly-solid proof) here and there. An automated anti-grief feature would be nice as well... something which automatically starts a votekick for the given reason "griefing" when a person destroys a certain amount of blocks placed by teammates. I don't want a full-on autokick feature... sometimes there are legitmate reasons to destroy fifty or a hundred blocks placed by a teammate, in the case of phallic imagery, swastikas, or other cases of offensive images or messages, or straightforward block spam. People that are merely trying to clean up a server shouldn't be kicked for their troubles. Plus, there's the biggest problem yet: failure to make sure that servers always have an admin or moderator present. When there's nobody in control, it's very hard to keep things fun and free of griefers, trolls, and hackers. I've siezed a sort of moderator-like control over a server before, to get rid of a group of trolls, but I was only able to do so because a majority of the other players agreed with what I was doing and votekicked anyone who was reported. If there had been even one or two more trolls, we'd all have been screwed. Even as it was, it took us a long time to deal with the trolls. Server admins, take note: monitor your servers! |

how do to sapper work.. You need atleast 2 block deep horizontaly place(in the ground of course) and it has to be closed from one side. |

If they fix the "hall of mirrors" glitch, as you call it, I will be pissed. I love doing that to people. |

I do that to deuces from time to time. |

It's actually a good way to get rid of idiots. I was just playing a game where this guys kept team killing me and I wasn't griefing so I covered him in blocks and he glitched out of the server. :) |

Yeah, I've used the glitch myself on a Deuce who was "helping" me on a tunnel, but ultimately it's a bug, and it can be used against non-griefers, by griefers, as well. |

well i don't find it fun at all, i think if you teamkill it should announce a kick against you without anybody saying they want you kicked, it would help to lesses team kill abuse |

Oh goodness no... unfounded, no-apparent-reason kicks are a big enough problem as it is. |
