Ants are harmless little creatures. Some people however consider them as a threat to their houses, and their presence as an invasion. Come on, people, all that ants do is clean your floors.
I tried googling the issue, but all I found was results such as "hurr 100% good product to kill dem ants" and idiots asking "how do i deel wiv ant nests omg!".
So now, I am asking you, why do some people want to kill ants, when all ants do is kill the nasty bugs (cockroaches, ...) and clean your house and feed spiders who kill nasty bugs even better? (mosquitoes, cockroaches...)

They don't want them in their homes. And they aren't just harmless creatures. If you truly believe that, you've never been bitten by fire ants.

Fire Ants are evil incarnate and should be killed as humliatingly and degradingly as possible. M80s are a good choice, provided sod and mulch are priced low.

Other non-painful ants are find provided they don't get in my food.

people said the same thing about spiders, then water spiders happened. likewise i hate those little buggers. i make it my duty to publicly hang them. i have like 500 gallows infront of my house, each one with an ant hanging there.

I used to work at a place where I literally killed about 5 black widows a day. Not even kidding.

This is the stupidest thread ever ahah. How are they helping? By cleaning the floor? That's why mops and brooms and a bunch of other things are used for. They are just irritating and they get into your food. Nobody wants to make food on a counter covered in ants.

I live in west Texas, and ever since we've been in this drought, the fire ant population has exploded. It's pretty damned annoying when you can't take a step outside without having to worry about stepping in bed of them somewhere. They come up anywhere and beds can grow from anywhere to 1'-6' in diameter, sometimes bigger.

When you've got something that big with that many ants running amok around your place, it's time for an ant holocaust.

They do good things and all, but enough is enough sometimes.

They kill ticks, fleas and other annoying types of insects that like to eat on plants and whatnot. Cotton farmers like them.
