I can't imagine why you'd want a holographic scope on an M4 anyway. A red dot scope, maybe, but not a full holographic setup.

But yes, the M4 is a real-world weapon as well. When I develop my models I try to totally ignore what's in CoD and just make weapons I think are significant from real life (an easy enough task, considering I've probably played CoD a total of less than one hour in my entire life). When I made a FAMAS, I made it entirely because it's currently the primary weapon of the French military (which is a mistake, to my mind). When I made an M107 (known as the "Barrett .50 Cal" to CoD kiddies and the "Light Fifty" to people that actually use them), again, that was because it's used now by a variety of militaries around the world.

Of course, I'm not entirely sure that this particular forum user wasn't disregarding MW2. In fact, given that he's put a holographic sight on a semi-automatic CARBINE, for Pete's sake, CoD was probably an influence.

when i make a weapon i get the real world pictures to make it unless it never existed in real life (e.g. the DC-17m sniper)
