That's ridiculously oversized. Check out mine: http://filesmelt.com/dl/M107.png That's made precisely to-scale with the default rifle in AoS (assuming it's a G34). See the difference? A player using you skin would have a huge unfair advantage... a selling point for quite a few twelve-year-olds, admittedly. |

here 's the redefined version: your skin is "ridiculously" too small. Check out this and if you think that is oversize, modify it as you like. |

It's actually just right. Try some math next time, please. |

@leet101 to be honest the real world barret is ridiculously large |
#37238 zigora3 Member Posted 13 years ago |
@Zigora3: Yes. Exactly as ridiculously large as the model I made. Since people seem to doubt me, I'll actually post the math. We're starting from the assumption that the default rifle is a G43. If you have doubts about that, see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G43 Right. The G34 is 113 cm long, or 44 inches. The AoS rifle model is 34 voxels long. Given that, one voxel = 3.3 cm (1.3 in). Okay. The Barrett .50 cal's longest version (The M28) is 145 cm (57 in) long. Divide that by 3.3 cm (1.3 in) and you get 44 voxels. My model is 44 voxels long. Matteopisy's is 64 voxels long, almost 50% longer than it should be. Mine's just right, thank you very much, and I have the math to prove it. If you don't believe me yet, look up the numbers and do the math yourself. I can guarantee that if you don't make any mistakes, you'll get the same numbers I did. I do actually THINK about things before I say them, thank you very much. |

@1334101 The default rifle is actually a M1 Garand. This is what i have heard |

No its a G43. Gewehr 43. The original sights were definitely Gewehr sights. |

Hey does anybody know how to download the .50 cal to make it the rifle in the game. This is the first time ive ever done this |
#37317 [MLG]DUCK Member Posted 13 years ago |
Heres a download in Notepad that explains it all |
#37318 Trizaxx Member Posted 13 years ago |
@BlizzardDUCK: It's not a totally ridiculous assumption, but the default rifle is more like a G43, since the M1's en bloc clips were loaded from the top, while the G43's stripper clips loaded in from the bottom. Additionally, the original ironsights were 100% pure Gewehr. If you really want an M1, I'll provide the skin here. Ironically enough, I've developed my own G43 skin since I started using the default rifle as a scaling tool. It's just as long as the original, obviously, but it looks quite a bit different. OK, here's my custom skins for both for comparison: G43: M1 Garand: Enjoy! |
