How about required Log in / Registered account to play inside games? You cant change name that way, easy hacker banning etc. |
#1874 DeagleFlash Member Posted 13 years ago |
Hackers would just make more accounts and further spam the account database. The only way against hackers would be checksumming all files and automatically banning anyone who enters a server whose checksums didn't pass the test. |
#1894 Lester Member Posted 13 years ago |
Well the point was, that those accounts get ip bans right away |
#1953 DeagleFlash Member Posted 13 years ago |
i think the account thing would be a good idea, register with your email and link it to your account name. if they don't pass the check then don't let them in to the game not ban them that way they don't create another account. if there was a checksum in game after a warning then should come a ban |

The files are checksummed. |

Accounts - Re-register Only way to combat cheating is to have really good anti-cheating measures on the server. Which is easy for things like flying, noclip, hyperspeed and bottomless-clip. Not so much for aimbotters. Plus, making the game premium only would help, but I'm not sure what will happen in that department. |

apatheus: If all the files are indeed checksummed, how do hackers get away with it? |
#2051 Lester Member Posted 13 years ago |
This idea works if you have to pay $$ to get an account. Unless, the hacker is stupid AND has money. I vote for the next release to be a paid version to help this developer nuture this great game. |
#2117 MIK3K Member Posted 13 years ago |
Making the game pay to play would be the worst thing the developer could do at this point. The game is so early with so little content so far that everyone I try to introduce it to just says it looks stupid. Game shouldn't be p2p until its released at least. Also, a lot of the population seems to be younger and prolly can't use online payments, and then even the older people don't always have access to them. Anyway, making it p2p would cut off almost all the player base, and it's not a large player base right now. |

Lester: Just like any modern hack of the game they don't change the files but the rammemory while the game is running |

good point -.- |

Um guys hackers are banned. If you see a grenade spammer then you some how lose connection. That's because when you ban someone the server restarts or even goes offline. So really hackers need to be reported if we can't stop them from hacking. |
#2144 Captain.Linch Member Posted 13 years ago |
And whoever said that paying for the game would help well. Think, is this game worth buying right now cause this game's still far away from completion. Maybe later where the game is more finished. Still I don't think paying is going to stop hackers. |

My suggestion would to be a public server for everyone to play on including noobs, but you would need to register and be white listed in order to play on any serious server. Each server host can have their own requirements in order to white list people. I don't think it would be hard, just set up a second server list inside the site that is a bit harder to access. I guess what im saying is to allow private servers that the server host can pick people they want to be able to play in it. |

That's a great idea but this ain't an idea post. It's a post to stop or make easier ways to ban hackers which that doesn't do. And also most people play this game for fun and this ain't no Minecraft, whitelist, crap. So I'm saying it's a great idea for a different post. |

link IP and E-mail to the account and that account to the game. Having to get proxies and make new E-mails gets tedious after a while, and if repeated offenders get banned then the fun will really be gone for a lot of the hackers and griefers out there. |

Developer says this... |
#2182 Mastur_Grunt Grunt Posted 13 years ago |
That is a wonderful idea |
#2186 Cookie Member Posted 13 years ago |
Um, we know. An the link IP an e-mail idea was already said so noobs read the posts before you type. Look at for Cpt.Linch and the battlefield chaps, see you there XD |
#2199 Captain.Linch Member Posted 13 years ago |
I just realized something. The scenario is there's a high reputation guy and another high rep guy playing on the server but one of them who we'll call Fred hates Bob so he bans him then he loses rep then he can't play on the server any more all because Fred doesn't like him. I think we'll be seeing a lot of this if Mastur_Grunt is right about what the developer said. |

@Cptn.Linch: Are you implying he log IP's via email? What if I were to be using Hotmail/Gmail/Any webmail service? Sorry if you aren't, though. |
#2213 Rokurai Member Posted 13 years ago |
Well @Rokurai, you spelt my name wrong [maybe I did] but yes that's exactly right. Unless he will use 'E-mail Transfer' [website program] to transfer accounts, that's exactly right. |
#2224 Captain.Linch Member Posted 13 years ago |
Also, Gmail is the only one listed that will work with these type of things. |
