  • Mines and Pistols and Pickaxe/Shovel deal dmg

    Hi i just want to say that this game would be cool if there would be mines and pistols
    mines - pay your tent 50 blocks (THAT YOU DUG) and you will be rewarded a mine.
    mines can be placed on everything except water. it can be destroyed if shot or exploded (by grenade)
    mines will have this yellow pointer showing them only to teamates

    mines will be hard to see thats why they could be a good offense aswel as a defence.
    if a enemy comes around 2 blocks around the mine it explodes dealing 60-75 dmg.
    it leaves just 4x1 destroyed blocks as the aftermath (dosnt leave anything if on bottom floor) the max mines for a player is 3. the player can put another mine (if he already used 3) once someone destroyes his mine or it explodes.

    Pistols. remember when you were on a good kill streak and 1 more kill till you had like 10kills 0 deaths? but you ran out of ammo an no time to realod. BOOM headshot.
    pissed? i would be. pistols a secondary weapon, not that strong, cant shoot far, people wont use it much since it deals round 20-40 dmg (100 if head) they can be used in close combat since they are fast.
    they can have 12/90 ammo. the reload is faster then the sniper. this gun was just a thing some people want instead of running from battle becuase you need to have to reload your sniper.

    pick and shovel deal damage.
    dont you like when you are behind someone and you can knife them. thats what i though can happen on AoS. i went up to someone with a pickaxe and started hitting them. he turned around and killed me. cmon i was stabbin him like 7times with a pickaxe. it should deal at least 40-60dmg per swing (depends where you hit)

    I agree only with the rest, but picaxe should deal much more damage, like 50 with one hit. At mines and sniper rifles I disagree. Sniping is pretty damn much effective with the default rifle, easy kills are the reward from player's good eye, and aim which may have been practiced for years. With a sniper rifle, this reward would be teared from those old pros to all kinds of newbies.

    Anyways no, and btw for those mines, you get anyways 50 blocks from the tent. Making the code to cheksum, which blocks were diggen, would be much of a challenge and waste of time.

    I don't think we should have any melee weapons. Imagine this scenario:

    You're randomly digging a tunnel and suddenly you cross paths to another one. You go to see where it's going and you find an enemy guy digging his way just 2 blocks from you. You think "heh, free kill" and you start shooting. He turns around and smashes you to bits.

    Isn't the attacker supposed to have the advantage in that situation? What I'm saying is that the current balance system is operating on the same system as rock > paper > scissors > paper.

    The difference is that here you have builders/backdoor diggers > random attackers > snipers > builders/backdoor diggers > random attackers and etc.

    Things like melee would throw balance off. The game is pretty balanced right now.

    I agree with Lester. There's plenty of opportunity for the ambushee to turn around and fight back - and win! There have been plenty of times where I get shot in the back or get my fort ambushed and I have the reflexes to kill them (Albeit surviving with 20 health). Or times where you see yourself getting sniped and you find the person shooting at you and get a headshot from his little head poking out from his barricade (usually from pure luck) And it has happened to me, too! I've camped a spawn and I've missed, the guy followed my tracer, and shot me in the head instantly. All I did was laugh

    That said, if the pickaxe and shovel were introduced as melee weapons, they would have to do minimal damage. As in, with the pickaxe's current swing rate, the dmg per swing would be 10. The shovel, with it's current fire rate, would be doing 40 dmg (3 swings to kill)

    The only reason I think this could be implemented is for those last ditch efforts where you suddenly find an enemy right next to you and are too scared out of your pants to switch to a rifle, which HAS happened to me...

    ...Get it? last ditch?
