To support my latest post to Jackster: Your behaviour on this page is, like "Rokurai" said, just utterly stupid. You're doing nothing less than feeding the trolls.
Since you have no rights to warn/tempban the spammers, stop talking to them. It won't help!
In my view it just looks like you have no real idea how to moderate big forums. But prove me wrong when you're mod.

Imagine the forum running the way my Server does. I only kick when needed (violation of rules), I have no dumb set of rules. Rules are easy to follow (there's only two). I choose quality Admins, who don't abuse, and I will see to it, they don't as well.

@alex it wasn't a serious question I asked. it was kinda like "who watches the watchmen" or "who regulates the regulators". I do however think most of the guys ben chose to be mods are shooting themselves in the foot with their behavior.

@green_beret Yes Ben chose a few members to be moderators, For some reason there is a glitch in bbpress that needs to be worked out. That is why the mod powers havent been activated. He invited people he believed are helping the community grow and not turn newbies away from the game forever. Jackster got the invite because he started this thread, I am positive Lexsym got the invite as well and it was because of his work on server admin tools basically trying to make the game enjoyable for all the players. There is a lot of time and dedication in that tool. I am sure others have gotten in the invite as well.

As for me getting the invite, that is up to you to decide.

Lexsym getting moderator permissions would turn me away from this community forever.

I wouldn't be too worried. They haven't received a mission statement yet. They are no agreed upon rules of moderations. Once the vision is clearly shared with them, I am sure they will be on board to help maintain a healthy growing community.

What Zuriki said. Making great tools for a game doesn't/shouldn't nominate you being a good moderator. (There are many fanapp-devs in the Soldat-community for examply. Making them all mods makes no sense.)
Lexsym totally disqualified himself with his latest posts here. He spammed, trolled and told everyone how supperior he is and how he would ban the people when he gains the rights to do so. He may be a good dev but he fails at behaving the right way to become a mod imo.

You might be right, maybe Lexsym shouldn't be, I am not the one to decide. The one who actually can make the decision will be able to read both this thread and the one about age limits.

I just was sharing with you the the thought process in choosing the first round of mods.

Ben really needs to think carefully as to who he gives a staff position to. Jackster is far too immature, he falls for trolls, and sometimes does the trolling, and he simply can't resist an argument. Lexysm is smart, and can help with the software, but should'nt receive it simply for some of the posts he's written in this thread. Ben, if you're reading this, please choose some more suitable candidates for moderators. Some users in this thread, such as Green_Beret, would be great, as they show intellect and maturity in every post they make, and support users who need help, when they know the answer.

Community volunteers, eh? I could help out a bit. Wouldn't mind donating a few bucks, or moderating for the community.
