    Ace of Spades is a pretty sweet game, but it's missing some features that would make it a lot better. Also, when you first start playing it is shows promise to be amazing in certain ways but then when you play it more you realize it can't deliver on some of them because of the current mechanics of the game.

    For one thing, it's difficult to play it with friends because when you die you get split up massively, and the spawning areas are huge. I think the game needs some ideas from Battlefield 2 and Project Reality mod for BF2, like Rally Points and squads.

    A squad system would let you squad up with your friends, and then you could have it so the squad leader can place a Rally Point (if his squad has at least X people in it, probably 2 or 3). A Rally Point would be a new game item (similar to the tent) where your squad would spawn at when they die instead of spawning back at the base. So that way you could create forward bases, castles, towers, etc and keep spawning there. Then there would be a new mini-game mission for the enemy to get to your Rally Point and destroy it with pickaxes.

    Also, I find it way too easy to destroy things in this game. Same-team Griefing is a massive problem too. I would like to see classes in this game, like Fighter, Builder, Demolitions. All classes could build and destroy the landscape like normal, but Builders could create much tougher things, like it would take 3 shovelings or 9 pickaxings to destroy a Builder's blocks. Also, builders would only have a crappy pistol that is half as effective as a rifle.

    And a Demolition guy would have dynamite explosives for destroying chunks of walls or bases, but he would also only have the crappy pistol.

    Each class could have a logo on their back to indicate their class.

    The new gameplay this would create is that Fighters would have to escort Builders to create forward bases and outposts where the squad leader could place a rally point. And Fighters would also escort Demolition guys to blow big holes in those bases and breach them to destroy the enemy Rally Point.

    Meanwhile, normal previous gameplay that we have now would still happen. Fighters could still go up and build little foxholes and walls to hide behind, they can still mine through the landscape the same. But when they get to base(s) built by enemy builders it would take them 3x longer to pickaxe through them.

    Few other ideas:

    - red enemy intel circles should show up on the minimap not just the big map
    - player's names should show up next to their circle on the minimap
    - add a knife
    - let users change their sensitivity
    - add a compass to the hud (like a side facing one that looks like this:
    ... NW | | | 300 | | | N | | | 30 | | | NE ...
    (so it shows directions and degrees)

    We already have a way to spawn on other players. Just type /follow [playername].

    Hell, with the new maps we're getting, rally points would be useful, as well as increased players.

    Man.

    Battlefront/Battlefront 2 all over again, baby.

    There are no squads. Squads are in the mind. And classes should always be weapon dependant, adding and subtracting abilities makes the game uncasual and OP at times.

    I know its been said before, but since the thread is open:

    >Lootable corpses & the ability to swap your weapon out for one on the ground
    >Killstreak rewards, and no not like CoD (possibly just a heath orb that only the player can see)
    >Pickaxe and/or spade doubling as melee weapons.
    >A medic class
    >Sprint
    >Prone position (laying down)
    >Grenade damage in water

    Just some ideas

    ...Anything kill streak is cod-like, now how about a chance for dropping a health orb,ammo pack, or nothing at all when you kill an enemy, and depending on which you have a bigger need for, you get a better chance of getting that need, and the closer you are to an enemy CP or Intel, the higher chance you'll obtain a drop.

    Squads have been done before with PySpades. I can't say they're much fun... all you need is two campers running tandem and you've got a huge problem to deal with.

    Rally points aren't such an awful idea, provided that they're moderately easy to destroy (three hits, like a normal block, would probably be appropriate). The biggest concern there is that some spawncamper would bury it in the back of enemy territory where it would be nigh on impossible to find and spawn there repeatedly.

    I think the best idea would be allowing players to set an individual respawn point or area within their team's usual spawn area, so that if a squad all gets killed they respawn together, ready for the next charge. Keep in mind that if they can respawn further forward than usual, raids will be more frequent than usual and this could make for an overwhelming state of offensive chaos where both teams haven't any hope of defending and are merely trying to cap the intel faster.

    The strategy's a little more fun when your spawn is moderately safe for you and the enemy has to push hard to get in to the intel, and can't afford to linger.

    simply getting a reward for a killstreak doesnt make it CoD-like. (unless the word itself has too much of an association for you)
    It was merely a way to explain myself. I'm not suggesting an RC car or napalm strike, but rather a system that rewards players that can get a streak with something like health or ammo.

    I'd like a record of killstreaks kept (if and when we get registration), but I wouldn't like any in-game perks for it. Maybe a simple in-game red text chat message every time you die after a record killstreak would be nice.

    Well how about we combine the ideas.. where theres a higher drop rate the bigger your streak is? An Elimination mode would be nice.

    Im not talking about perks -.-
    merely a small heath drop for players that earn a kill streak, or as i was saying before maybe a medic class.
