Delete your %APPDATA%\Google\Chrome\Local State file. Don't use Firefox; it's terrible in its current state.

Firefox 5 is really not good at all. If you can, stay back with Firefox 3, the last decent version.

Holy shit, people still use Chrome?

Dude, start using Iron. Burnout Fox has horribad memory leaks, Chrome monitors your shit, and IE... Do I need to explain on that one?

    Memory leak... explain.

The only semi dumb thing that ever happens is once in a while (like once every few weeks) I'll close it and won't be able to open it back up again until I give the three-finger-salute and close firefox.exe manually in taskmanager.

I thought the problem was that it was a total memory hog.

I do remember the last time I used Firefox, taskmanager reported 100000k+, and growing.

Meaning I couldn't go more than 2 hours without my rig flipping me off. But if that was just me, then... Shit.

Yeah it's using 129,000k on mine. Doesn't really matter to me though, I've still got over 75% physical memory available. And it could go on for days and not really do anything to harm my computer. I just assume it's because of all the addons I'm running.

Gain a whole 25 pixels of extra space on top; let google spy on everything you do.

    Sounds good to me!

MD, why aren't you using the awesome userstyle Stack made for us? Do you ENJOY being blinded by the bright colors while sitting in a dark room at night, all alone?

    It can be found here.

Mozilla Firefox isn't responsible for a vast majority of the memory leaks that people experience. Add-ons and other third-party extensions are mainly to blame as they are created by (usually) independent developers. Any software that allows third-party add-ons runs the risk of introducing poorly-written/memory ineffecient code. It's simply out of the hands of the original developers (in this case Mozilla)

Chrome is fast and light but can take a fair amount of memory as well (remember, when sandboxing each tab is it's own process, you have to add them up). The data collection is also big debate surrounding Chrome. Personally I like Chromium more than Chrome as it's updated hourly (while technically not "stable", I've never had any problems) and it also doesn't collect information or have the "Google" branding.

Internet Explorer...ehh, kind of speaks for itself, although it has improved significantly since IE 6, which is a web designer's worst nightmare.

I don't consider myself a Firefox "fanboy", but rather a fan of FOSS, which is why I lean towards Firefox the most, followed by Chromium.

No, I just don't like glaring screens at night :<
Honestly, that's the only reason I have dark userstyles. It's not to be cool or edgy or anything. I promise.

Is updating your browser hourly absolutely necessary? I haven't updated firefox in like half a year, and there's only been one problem with it so far (Stack's search not working).

I disabled updating noscript because it would literally attempt to update every single time I ran firefox, which got annoying to say the least.

@Kaede-chan, I don't update it hourly, but rather every few days or so. I made a program that does it automatically for me so it's no big deal. It's just nice knowing it's constantly being updated around the clock so any bugs are fixed practically as soon as they're found. And the search should work, it was a problem on my end, not with Firefox.

The search worked fine after you fixed it.

As for bugs, I haven't seen any on firefox 3.6 worth mentioning, so I figure, why update it at all? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
's'why I never update windows either.

I used safari once. And then I was like... people actually argue that this is a good browser? It's like slightly better than IE, and that isn't saying much.

Never used Opera, what's so good about it?
