This isn't call of duty black ops |
#2331 Holden Member Posted 13 years ago |
I never said it was call of duty black ops |
#2335 halorocks22 Member Posted 13 years ago |
Sounds like BlackOps |
#2337 Jackster Member Posted 13 years ago |
It dosent. I am talking about Skin Templates. This is more related to Cube Bomb or Minecraft. How does it sound like Black Ops? I did not even include any CodPoints or any of that crap you COD Addicts. |
#2340 halorocks22 Member Posted 13 years ago |
We say its like black ops, which means no horrible idea |
#2375 Holden Member Posted 13 years ago |
"This isnt call of duty black ops" is what most people take as an translation to "OMFG THIS IDEA SUCKZ LLOLOLOL" |
#2379 halorocks22 Member Posted 13 years ago |
:D I think they're just pointing out that the reason they are playing this game is because they want to get away from what they believe is the mindless FPS's that are so popular these days, thus BLOPS. I kinda share that feeling too. |
#2386 Akimbo Member Posted 13 years ago |
No, this isnt going to mess up the game or anything. |
#2427 halorocks22 Member Posted 13 years ago |
No, that simply wouldn't work. The voxel characters are simply too low resolution. The game doesn't have things like textures (all the characters are just made of coloured blocks, part of the model). I think it would be cool if you could customise your personal model structure, though. It would add nice individialism. Maybe not everyone wants that though, but personally I'd love to rock out as a black knight in-game. |

Pretty sure no one cares what other players look like. Can't see yourself, and no one pays attention to emblems on almost any game, don't see why it would be worth it on here. |
#2448 LordAardvark Member Posted 13 years ago |
It sounds like a cool idea. But lets think of how many people are going to be running around in penis outfits if we do that... Customization to an extent is a good thing! But you could limit the player on what he can or can not customize and to what extent he can. This would lead to far less penis hats and also add extra style to the game. |

Sounds like minecraft to me, |
#2458 mrnman13 Member Posted 13 years ago |
You cant "Skin" this game. |
#2459 Halloween Member Posted 13 years ago |
Maybe just a top that you could personalise the back of it? Like what the moterbikers ware? |
#2463 Jackster Member Posted 13 years ago |
You can skin this game. Use Slab6 and open the models, and change the textures using the 2d editor. Nigguz gettin' smart bout stuff dey dun noe. |
#2468 Paroxysm Member Posted 13 years ago |
What about simply changing the color of you gun? And that's still not "technically" skinning. Your just re working the model. |
#2469 Halloween Member Posted 13 years ago |
It is skinning. You're changing the texture / skin of the model. |
#2476 Paroxysm Member Posted 13 years ago |
Hallowen, your idea sounds Black Opish. Guys, he's saying that we should be able to change our characters features to like a corporal uniform or a private badge which isn't like Black Ops [Prestige 15 Level 50 by the way, I RULE! XBL] or any COD game. Other wise, Halo dude has got a point. Look out for Cptn.Linch on the battlefield, see you there XD |
#2479 Captain.Linch Member Posted 13 years ago |
i could see very simple options to chose from, just to make it less like a clone army. but then again, the games beauty lies in its simple graphics and textures |
#2480 h0tsauce Member Posted 13 years ago |
@Paroxysm, you cannot 'skin' this game as there are not any textures in it. You're changing the model itself by recolouring it. |
#2488 OVERLORD Member Posted 13 years ago |
You could say my idea is Black Opish, but then you could say the fact that its a FPS is Black Opish. The idea that you could change the color of you gun would not rely on the fact that you unlock them but rather have a choice of either any color or a select few right off the bat. |
#2492 Halloween Member Posted 13 years ago |
In that case, Why dosent ben just make it that he shows you the default skin texture for green and blue teams, and you edit the colors of them cube by cube. However, maybe he could make it that you cant edit it with anything execpt maybe a color editor he makes, and it has to be closely moderated before being published and you and (possibly others) being able to wear it. |
#2493 halorocks22 Member Posted 13 years ago |
You can skin it! The models have a surface on each of the voxels, which we'll call a "skin". Changing the color of this voxel changes the color of the "skin" Therefore, we are skinning the model, inside the actual model It's brilliant! |
#2495 Paroxysm Member Posted 13 years ago |
I know. |
#2498 halorocks22 Member Posted 13 years ago |
No thats not "skinning" that's changing the color of the model. If you were to do that, you would be the only one to see it, and everyone else would look like the model you edited and the reason being because that's a client side change. |
#2501 Halloween Member Posted 13 years ago |
Halloween, it is skinning! Take Teamfortress 2 for example! On FPSBANANA, the section is Skins, and it changes the actual model itself, without their being an image file. The change is completely client side not server side. So your argument is absolutely invalid! This proves to me you have no idea what you're talking about! |
#2503 Paroxysm Member Posted 13 years ago |
Blue Team Griefer: All right, if I switch teams then everyone will know I was griefing, but if I change my skin to the green skin, greens won't shoot me and blues that try to will fail. When they pass over me and don't see my name, they will think it's a glitch. 10 minutes later: epic WINNING |
#2505 YourMom *BANNED*Gregarious Posted 13 years ago |
@Paroxysm: No, the model doesn't have a surface on it. Take my word on it! By changing the colour, you're actually re-colouring the model itself. No texture = no skinning. You're altering the actual, physical model's colour. |
#2507 OVERLORD Member Posted 13 years ago |
Lies! All of it! You're retexturing the model! |
