1. The grenades really need to do more damage and destruction, 3 blocks is almost nothing. They should do up to 6 blocks, and you should get 4 grenades instead of just 2. They rare do the job that they're supposed to do, which is flush enemies out from cover or trenches or holes, or destroy enemy structures. They should also have a better looking explosion, like just a simple 3D circle that grows quickly and then disappears. It'll start red, then turn orange, then turn yellow, and then turn grey, as if its cooling down as the quick explosion is happening. :P 2. The SMG should be accurate but weak, most of the time you lose if you use an SMG unless you're in a tunnel. If you have to do close combat, you can use the knife/sword. :D Some people are idiots and can't aim, so if they had an accurate but weak machinegun, more people would like this game. :P And I'm suggesting that the second weapon shouldn't be a close range only weapon, because most maps in the game are meant for longer range fighting and most sub machine gunners get owned. 3. An instant kill knife (a big one, like as long as your arm) should be added, so that you have a weapon to use in case if you run out of ammo and so that you can do close range combat. Read my second suggestion if you don't understand why we can't just use the SMG. 4. The minimap should display the coordinate you're at (for example, D-5) so that you don't need to look at the big map to check. When you play with friends they'll want to know what coordinate you're at so they can find you. 5. Add a squad system: if you type follow/playername then you'll spawn where they are and they're kind of a leader of a squad. But I'm not totally sure on this one. 6. Enemies should be visible on the map :) 7. Map icons, like the crosses that represent tents and the squares that represent intel, should cover up buildings and maybe be glowing so that you can see them even in levels where lots of random things have been built. 8. Make an easier map making program. 9. IMPROVE THE FORUMS. Check out other forums. Notice how they show things like who started the topic, and they allow you to easily upload an avatar without making an account on some other buttfuck site? I bet the creator of this game is just trying to be original, but its a bad idea because the pre-made system that everyone uses is generally better. |

1. Grenades destroy blocks within a 3 x 3 x 3 radius, and you need to be within a 7 block radius to get chunks blown out of you. That's underpowered? 2. If you're complaining about the SMG then you're probably not using it right. DON'T ADS. Crouch, and don't go for head-on confrontations with riflemen. If you have common sense, and see that the SMG was meant for close range, then you can adjust accordingly. 3. This would have to be used tactically, as in, hide in a corner and camp people out. Which after time would be useless, due to the fact that this isn't CoD. You can't just run up to a guy and knife him. Given the current running speed, weapons that deal ranged damage would rape a knife in almost all encounters. It just takes for him to turn around and pop, lobotomized. 4. I like this idea. But it would make the M key almost useless, since most people don't even check their maps except for finding cell coordinates. 6. Not visible per se, but they should be given off by some sort of action (running, sound, gunfire, etc) 7. Someone mentioned that they should flash, but if they glow, then whatever. 8. Ken? I suggest to bring a sort of Command And Conquer feel into it... But I really don't know what to think. Classes? Kill point Usage? I don't know, just throwing shit out in the open. |

I really just want concrete blocks (take longer to place, but resistant to gunfire and shovels) stationary machine guns (must be placed before firing, less recoil + slightly more damage than submachine gun), medkits (replaces grenades in inventory can be used to heal other players), and mortar launchers (must be placed before firing, launches 1 mortar to a max of possibly 100 yards, said mortar explodes with the force of 3-6 grenades upon impact, slightly wider damage radius than grenades). barbed wire would be a nice addition too. |

We should have player levels on here perhaps up to level fifty, and you get 10 experience for every enemy you kill and 30 experience for every Intel you turn into your tent. When you press p it pauses the game and your stats are shown as well as a options button where you can toggle with volume,graphics and other things. Your experience bar will be shown when you pause the game, but when you do pause the game you are vulnerable to taking damage. Players should have a health bars above them maybe just a simple green bar that changes to yellow at 75% health orange at 50% red at 25% and black for 0%. There should be medics on here. The medic box gives health if you stand within a five block radius of it. And there should be a class where you can hand out ammo boxes that has the same affect as the medic box but it restores ammo. Both the ammo box and the medic box should give you 5 experience when assisting a player Instead of Ctrl being crouch, shift should be crouch; because shift is way easier to reach then ctrl is. They should increase how far you can see. You toggle with the limit of your view by pressing v. There should be a much wider variety of weapons. For close combat you should be able to use a knife which deals 100 hit-points, and has a range of 1 and 1/2 blocks. Points should be earned completing various objectives and task. The points you earn should be able to be spent on perks, weapons, attachments and armor. People should also agree with everything I say :D. There shouldn't only be a capture the flag mode. There should be several more modes so there would be more of a point to playing the game. You should be allowed to place markers on the map to mark certain spots that you want to be able to find easily again. You should be able to customize the character that you run around as. People should advertise this game a lot more and make donations to it so that these changes can actually happen. |

@masterbajurf i don't get why you would want xp or character customization. this isnt a role playing game. most of the stuff i want would be focused on maintaing map control |

1. Most anti-personnel grenades (that aren't designed not to kill) are fragementation grenades... they explode into a bunch of sharp pieces. That's pretty good against people... and not so good against soil, rock, concrete, or whatever else you want to assume a block is made out of. Thus, the grenade has a good range against people but doesn't do much against structures... which is as it should be. This way it's a better tool for someone who actually wants to kill someone else rather than a greiferfest item. The grenades are decent killing tools if you know how to use them, and I've gotten more than a few (pretty epic, if I may say so myself) kills with them. 2. If anything, the SMG should be less accurate. As to weakness... I think it's about weak enough already. Remember, it's intended as a short-range weapon, not a sniper rifle. That's what an SMG is supposed to be for. 3. Not an inherently bad idea, but a lot of other players have suggested that the game isntead be changed so that the pickaxe and spade do damage (because, c'mon, getting hit in the head with a pickaxe HURTS. Just ask Trotsky). 4. Eh. I don't really mind having to look at the map. I think even the minimap itself may be too much... I certainly don't feel like more details are neccesary. The requirement to stop somewhere moderately safe to open up your map adds a nice feel to things. 5. PySpades has this. It can make spawncampers billions of times worse, or be fun... it really depends on how it's used. I think the spawncamper risk means it should be part of an optional third-party tool and not a mandatory server feature for everyone. 6. They are... if you capture the intel. Other than that, use your eyes and ears and a bit of cunning to find them (or avoid them, as you see fit). The way it is currently means that a clever player who takes the time and effort to carefully tunnel under or advance stealthily past enemy lines doesn't have to worry about some newb looking up his dang address and stopping by for a quick discussion in firearms use. 7. Eh. A whole ton of garbage and/or decoys on the map can be annoying, but a few decoys aren't that bad. I'm mostly neutral to this idea... I don't care all that much if Ben implements it or not. 8. AMEN! 9. The forums could always use a bit of work, I suppose, but keep in mind that this is a pretty advanced forum for an early beta. More than anything the community itself could use some straightening out (read: Get rid of CoD fankiddies. Anyone who can be mature about their like for CoD is fine, but the xXxProsnipxorzxXx who want a FAMAS and a Desert Eagle should be shunned). |

Nah, anyone who wasn't legit would just edit their player to be all one or two solid colors that matched their favorite map or something along those lines. Solid brown player models would be invisible against the back of dug-out bunkers, which wouldn't be fair to other players. Maybe a small thing, like a design on your sleeves that you could edit, would be more appropriate. A gender option (between two pre-made models) would be alright, I guess. |

I think it'd be pretty easy to implement. It'd only be one more model, two more sound files, and one more choice to choose during the opening screen. Example: 1/2 = b/g, 1/2 = semi/smg, 1/2 = m/f |

Actually, shouldn't a male/female option be something in the config if we got one? It's not like we'd all be changing our genders in between games. I'm pretty sure that would be a permanent feature for most players, barring pranks and other forms of gooniness. |

That's a great idea. The choice in the config would automatically tell the client which model to use for your character, since you would have to have both male and female models on your computer to render other people who choose to be male or female. And for the people who don't even like the idea, they can simply edit the female models and sounds back to the original males, so it appears from their end that everybody is male anyway. I don't see how this could hurt anybody. |

The forum system is unique. Not many people use bbpress. I personally like bbpress more than other softwares because of this. Plus its easily integrated with his blog. However if bcoolface wanted a new forum I would personally suggest phpbb, pirating invision, or something like smf or mybb. They're customizable and stuff. Also, to be more unique yet custumizable, forum software like minibb or vanillia could work as well. |

I agree with most of your points- 1. agreed- I wouldn't say no to a bigger blast radius (especially a bigger horizontal spread), and the tent should go back to stocking up 4 grenades again to reward you for slogging all the way over to it. The explosion is fine as it is. 2. agreed. Some players have no idea how much those blazing tracers can instantly give away your position. if the smg was weak but accurate, it would allow for far more tactical play with them. One SMG player might even be able to fool the enemy into thinking a ridge or bunker was full of accurate rifleman with such a gun. Considering combat in AoS is more often than not at medium to extremely long range, the SMG needs an accuracy improvement regardless of any other factors. 3. Disagree- we've already got a shovel and pick- why should we have a knife that kills while those tools don't? I think the shovel would be pretty useless for melee because of how slow it is, but the pick certainly is fair game. Use that instead. 4. Completely agree. The minimap is almost useless at the moment. 5. Forget it. You can see player names, and if your friends are on a voice chat then that's all you need. 6. Enemies already are on map when the intel is captured- this is one of the main reasons for even going for the intel. enemies on map all the time absolutely DESTROYS stealth, and a massive part of the game with it. 7. I agree that map icons should be easier to see against landscapes, but I think resourceful players should always be able to duplicate them. 8. Make an easier map making program. Yeah, fair enough. 9. ditto. |
